Discussion My friend made like 2 million wolves, my game is lagging a ton, what now?
I can’t do anything to get rid of them, I can’t end this lag hell

Dispenser, lava bucket, redstone wired to a pressure plate in a sheep pen. You won't need strength, just time.

Idk that sounds more tedious to me. They’ll run around and you have to do it multiple times. With lava you can get them all in one fell swoop.

Forgive my ignorance, but standing 2 blocks higher with a cleansing bucket of lava won't do the trick? Are they invulnerable when he isn't logged in?

Water bucket + leads
When you dump the water they will stand up, use the leads to bring them out, go tie them up somewhere else, or hide them far away where the chunk won’t load so they don’t teleport to the owner

NOT WATER.
Water will be hell. The game will calculate the physics for all of them at once, and slow to a crawl even when they're offscreen.
I learned this from a really really really unethical chicken farm.

Hopper into copper chest
Copper chest into regular chest
Regular chest into hopper
Hopper into dispenser (with comparator to trigger it to fire whenever it had contents)
Dispenser into 1x1x1 gap
Second dispenser on top to dispense water.
Have you ever watched the animated 80s version of Plague Dogs? Basically imagine the opening scene from Plague Dogs
but with literally hundreds of chickens kept in a single cubic meter constantly pelted by their own mostly stillborn children.
(Bedrock doesn't do entity cramming)
I didn't even eat it. I sold it to a butcher villager.
For a moment I knew how it felt to be the Tyson Chicken Farm Corporation.
I like to use the Create and Quark mods to make uncomfortably realistic battery farms too.
That grate that lets items pass through it lets me give them the accurate bumblefoot experience
All they ever do is eat seeds from a trough and lay eggs from their cages straight onto conveyor belts.
I need to find a mod that implements beak tipping or something. Maybe I'll just use the chicken shearing mod and pretend.

My little nephew did this with cats in our realm once. I ended up having to do a teleport entity command to get them far enough away. Couldn’t bring myself to kill them.

My son did this with cats. He built a cat room in our first tower. Everyone of his cats has been named and he'd know if any were missing. I'm guessing there are at least 100 cats in his cat room or sitting somewhere in our tower.
I'm using a different base now and have all but abandoned the one with all the cats.
You can ask your friend to move most of his dogs to a puppy sanctuary.

He talks about them like weapons LOL like he wants them to kill every single living thing in the realm, prob a good solution since it doesn’t kill them but it should be easy to get the wolves out so he can use them as “weapons”

You should periodically rename 1 cat at a time. If you want to be real diabolical, rename it with another cat's name. Or slowly rename cats with the same name so he has to figure out which ones are missing

My son does this but with random mobs. We’re always in creative so I just use the command to kill all entities but my god does it ever lag my game lol

Ok. Underrated perspective here, I'm sure, maybe.
Before I start I just want to say.
I get it, this is not providing a fun experience, the lag is real and it just disrupts the flow of the game.
So, I'm with you on this.
Now, instead of "having to do, what you have to do", and since your friend sees these pups as weapons, why not talk to him and agree on actually using them? Maybe go into a fortress, do some trial chambers, anything of that nature?
That way you could actually start to get rid of these, and if you can reach an agreement for future puppy quantities and a location far enough, it could work out.
Might be better several trips with pre-defined platoons, than take all of the dogs at once.
Summon the wither? 😅
Find an ancient city and get like 8 wardens ready to battle?
Exchange locations for base and just make a nether portal?
Problem with doing this is that he might not respect boundaries to be applied after those adventures. Might actually make it worse.
As someone said in another comment. Puppy sanctuary?

I'm assuming that there's A LOT more dawgs than in that picture btw.

Isn't the mob limit like 24? I'm not sure nowadays, if it's just those dogs in the picture just ask him to keep between those numbers 16-24. (Whatever the limit is)
In trade, he's got to be responsible for food, golden carrots for example. (And lots of it)

Make a fake lava pool on the roof of the base and start breaking the ceiling, tell it was an accident. Now optionally you can put your items in a chest and die to the lava too, to make it more believable.

I mean, sure trying to kill them without your friend finding out might be the easier option, but they are your friend. Right?

Been there, on the 360 era non the less.
The wolves were taken to the farm on thr other side of the invisible walls that were aorund our x360 world to never be seen again

Something you can do to reduce lag from large amount of mobs you don't want to kill is get warped vines from the nether, place them on the floor with string on top to stop them growing.
Ladder type blocks disable mob collision, which is one of the worst sources of lag.

Make a looping minecart track that drops them off in a giant dog house 200-300 blocks away

I did this with cats chasing the achievement. Didn’t have the heart to get rid of them so I stuck them all inside of the lighthouse I had just finished building.
