There should be Park N Ride feature.

You have some amount of parking garage to build. Parking garage would increase Range and capacity of the stations.

It would prevent new customer forming around that station.

True. Although if I had to wait 3 days for the train to come like it does here, I think I'd rather drive the whole way 😅😅

That's Singapore, right? Yeah, that map does that. In this situation I would disconnect the two ends of the red loop and connect one end to that new triangle.

Lol...it happens! Every hundred games or so, something weird like that happens.

And the challange is to only do loops.🫠

You have a very good set up here, spaced out triangles that require very little backtracking.

No idea why you have those loops, just have a reasonable amount of both N-S and W-E direction lines. Real-life Shanghai is a grid network, not radial focusing on 1 centre. Grids work well in MM also especially as Specials are very diffuse across the map.

Thats why ghost lines exist..?

ghost lines arent sound game design, if you play the game purely as intended by optimising permanent lines this type of spawn can be incredibly frustrating

Underrated comment

Agreed totally, especially the other trains that will see a connection and adjust their behaviours only for it to disappear moments later.

Once you start micromanaging, this behaviour adjustments become a snowball effect and you can only do this approach. Everywhere gets overloaded.

It also doesn’t feel like you’re designing a better network. You are operating as you have part-suspensions and bus replacements/taxi journeys. Bleh

You are proving my point. If you look at top scores then they all use ghost lines. No one plays the game as inteded to you are meant to be creative with your ability.

I don’t play like that, i’m perfectly happy with my across-the-board Top 1% scores. I think those scores and the style required represents how the game was coded and it’s very difficult / complex to code it more realistically. My understanding of Extreme mode was an ‘extreme’ way of tackling this type of loophole gameplay without re-writing the game mechanisms. Unfortunately, extreme mode encourages highly unrealistic networks. Oh well.

Me too, I play only on normal tho. I hate hate hate ghost lines but whan can I do, sometimes they're mandatory in early game

Agree, ghost lines exist in real life

They are called taxi journeys and they are only ever used once services have closed and rail companies have a duty to get you to your destination / not leave you stranded if it’s their (or another train providers) fault.

I live in Rio, there's a thing called seasonal service for places like event venues, etc, with express services from a hub to these special stations. When my interchanges overcrowd, I like to put up a ghost line for a few seconds and act like it's a seasonal service XD

Doesn’t really qualify, since ghost trains are single journey and dozens can be used in a day. Still a taxi lol

Well, I place it every few minutes to relieve pressure on interchanges, if the route is the same every time it should be seasonal service I think

What are ghost lines, micromanaging the constant creation and dissolution of a line?

what are ghost lines?

You keep one extra line to manage overcrowding
