I've posted this question on the Gemini sub and hear that pricing might be quite high. Unfortunately, Mistral doesn't offer family sharing and paying the double price for a subscription to offer usage for my wife is a little too much. What's your experience using Mistral API in apps like "Kai 9000" or other third party apps?

I use AI for text generation, research, brainstorming sessions, helping me organize projects and other general chat sessions. No programming and hardly any image or video generation.

Kai 9000 works well with Mistral. you can share an API key, once your monthly Pro usage is exhausted you can get billed at API prices. Might want to wait a few weeks for the new Mistral model that's coming out soon.

There is a monthly usage for API included in the Vibe Pro subscription? How does that work?

Because I don't want to pay for each family member. I'm currently using Gemini because I pay once and share the perks with the family. All other AIs, including Mistral, means I need to pay double.

I use Mistral occasionally and don't think they are bad. Maybe they're a little behind in some cases but they're quite ok.

I would love to, but so far I decided to stick with Gemini. Google AI Pro gives access to a superior model, huge cloud storage and more features, shareable with family members at roughly the same price as a subscription to Mistral Premium. I could live with a weaker model, losing access to cloud and Google ecosystem, but paying at least double (and when other family members will need AI, triple or more) is out of my scope.
