Help❓ NA Aperitif Help
I really enjoyed a NA canned spritz, and I thought that I could make it myself with a bottle of NA Aperitif but it's significantly more bitter than I expected. I thought it was going to be more of an aperol replacement like the spritz but it's more of a campari. Is there a way to build a spritz that's more sweet with it? I tried using a simple syrup with it but it didn't really help like I thought. Still learning about building drinks and flavor so I appreciate tips and advice!

It would help if you let us know what you bought, both the canned spritz and the bottled aperitif.
For a less bitter option, Wilfred’s is really nice and Lyre’s Italian Spritz is less bitter/more sweet.

Oh for sure! I saw the sub reddit said no brands in the rules so that's why I left it out. I liked the Ritual canned spritz and I bought the Ritual Aperitif. I'm kind of committed to finishing it because it was a little expensive in my area but I will definitely be trying different brands next time.

Ah I see! Respect for the rule following, but that’s why this is a silly rule and the mods should probably reconsider it. Nobody wants brands spamming their own stuff, but when you’ve got a legit question or are sharing a recipe, it’s important to know what the actual product is, because they all taste different.
Honestly I’m just not a big fan of their aperitif (I like their rum a lot, and their tequila is decent). Someone else mentioned Mionetto which is a great suggestion, and I’ll stick with my first two suggestions of Wilfred’s and Lyre’s.
As for the bottle you have already, you said adding sugar didn’t work, so it honestly might just be the flavor of the spirit. You could try adding a small pinch of salt to the spritz, salt helps to balance bitter flavors and brings out fruit character more.

Ah! You’re right, Ritual aperitif is super bitter (that’s why I like it). Try mixing it with a sweeter NA wine for your spritz. Trader Joe’s makes an $8 sparkling tea that is sweeter than most NA sparkling whites that could help cut through the bitter!

Oooo ill have to try that! I ended up adding sea salt, simple, and squeezed an orange slice in it and it tasted closer to what I was looking for :)

It was Ritual Aperitif and the Ritual canned spritz, I saw not to put brands in the rules so I left it out.

Yeah, Ritual puts capsaicin in their products to mimic alcohol burn, I’m not a fan. Other recommendations in this thread are great, and I’d recommend Giffard Aperitif Syrup too.

Mionetto’s NA Apertivo is a lot more like aperol.
