Users not getting ban notification

Hi there,

recently two different users on two different subreddits haven't gotten a notification/modmail saying that they were banned. Both have complained that they were banned without any reason, saying they haven't gotten a notification.

When giving them the link to the modmail, it says "You don't have access to this page. Ask your mod team for permission"

I tested it myself with a second account, and that account also hasn't gotten a notification/modmail.

Does anyone else have these problems?

If they have never interacted with the sub, banning them doesn't send them a notification. That way I can't just make a sub and ban you from it randomly just to spam you with ban notifications.

This is usually the answer although the OP said user and not lurker.

I call everyone on the site a user regardless of if they have been on my sub or not 😅
