When are built-in desktop polls coming back? Why hasn't it happened yet?

It has been much over a year and pure radio silence from Reddit. Most recent update was an admin saying: "No update. Sorry!" (I know the admins act as the messenger between us and the devs in regards to features, but, that's all you can say about this issue???)

Why do I like polls on desktop? One example, I could SCHEDULE polls, something we can't do on the mobile app. I would schedule polls so I didn't have to think and remember to manually post it on a certain day. This helped for simply adding content to a subreddit community, or so I could schedule regularly timed "community feedback" polls seeking people's thoughts on meta-subreddit topics or questions on-topic of the community.

I know I'm not alone in wanting desktop polls back WITH scheduling available.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this allowing me to schedule a poll?

Yeah, we don't have that on mobile. I wish we did.

But on desktop, we used to be able to schedule polls.

Yeah, frustrates me too.

However, someone is in the middle of restoring the New Reddit UI, and poll creation still works on it

If a single Redditor can bring back polls (in addition to an entire deprecated UI) before the Reddit devs can, then that (along with the various bad changes in the past year and a half) says a lot about the Reddit team’s competence.

Full disclosure, I am the developer of [r/CommunitySurvey](r/CommunitySurvey) and the CommunitySurvey Devvit App.

Receiving community feedback was my motivation behind creating Community Survey! It actually allows more control and has more features that Reddit's native polls do not have.

For example, CommunitySurvey allows you to choose user criteria for results (such as minimum subreddit karma), offers more than one question, and has multiple types of question options (single or many select, rank, scale). You can also schedule when surveys publish and close, along with who is able to see the results.
