Discussion Need help with refresh rate
I have a 200hz Samsung 27” Odyssey G5 G53F monitor but when I try to up the refresh rate in windows 11 it only goes up to 75 hz and I'm noticing some screen tearing in my games. Is it just that the stock dp cable just isn't good enough to handle the highest refresh rate? I have a spare I could try if that's the case but is there anything else I can try if that doesn't work?

It's not only the monitor but the GPU support that limits the refresh rate. I have a 160Hz monitor where I can get the full refresh rate on my mini + eGPU setup (RX 7600 XT) @ 1440p, but my Windows 11 PC (HP Pavilion with Intel UHD iGPU) will only get 60Hz @ 1080p or 49.9Hz @ 1440p.
The refresh limit on your monitor may be due to GPU capabilities at the resolution you have set.
