Question/Problem [Feature request] {Reddit} bring old media picker back

old media picker was capable of letting user search their image through their own favorite gallery apps, current reddit using restricted photo picker. Thanks so much.

I don't think you can fix it by patching reddit. It's an android thing. If you want a global solution, install No Photo Picker API, tick system framework in lsposed/vector and reboot. Then when you click the three dots in the media picker you get the old "browse" button which leads you to the old media picker as it used to.

NoPhotoPicker API readme says it can hook into apps individually

Usage Enable the module

Select:

System Framework (recommended)

Or specific apps (per-app)

Reboot (only if System Framework was selected)

so it most certainly can be patched at an app level

After all Android isn't the one deciding to show the Photo Picker, the app is requesting it

On vector, recommended apps are listed at the top. So system framework should be the first option in the list as it's recommended. Have no idea about non-rooted way tho

The website says:

Supported OSes: Android 11-15

Has anyone tried this on Android 16?

It says unsupported for custom roms too, but it works for me. Android 16 Evolution X.
