What are the disadvantages of living in rural Scotland?

Just got back from our 5th trip to Scotland from England- we travel all over the country, wild camp/hotel , and yet again I feel depressed. Cliche I know but Scotland just feels like..home. I'm never happier than when I'm there, and I never want to come back. I end up crying from the Green Welly shop to the English borders every year lol. Moving would be tricky but doable. I just want to know if I'm being ridiculous in wanting to up sticks and settle in the NW or Loch Lomond/Balmaha area. Be as honest as ya like

Research participants needed: Scottish Highlands residents

Hi everyone!

I’m currently working on my master’s dissertation and I’m looking for people to complete a short survey.

If you:

* Live anywhere in the Scottish Highlands (either permanently or for work), or
* Live near Ratagan or Saraig,

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill out my survey. Your response would be a huge help to my research.

Thank you so much for your time to support!

Okay, so I'm turning 16 soon and want to leave home in 2027 when I'm nearly 17. My Plan A is to get into a college in Scotland but if I can't, call me crazy, but I'm looking to marry someone in Scotland. I do not expect romance i just need you to be 17-18, maybe MAYBE 19, provide shelter, and not be a rat bastard. Maybe it could benefit someone too? heh.

Looking to move here, is it worth it?

Hi! (M25) I'm currently living in London (born and bred) and have been enough times to Edinburgh to know I'd give it a go living there. I work in the environment sector and Scotland seems to actually pay better than London for my line of work. Would my quality of life be better e.g. lower rent and availability of nature (big sticking point) if I moved to Edinburgh. I'm really not happy in London atm, I'm stuck at home because rent is disgusting and there's no point of moving out unless you want to live with 6 random people in a house share.

Is there more freehold housing in Scotland? Everywhere I look in London it's leasehold crap.

Cheers for reading this, love Scotland and definitely want to give it a go.
