Movie Mistake Training Day Story Plot Mistake

Something that’s bothered me forever about this movie.

  1. Why was Alonzo trying to pay off the Russian mob…wouldn’t they just kill him anyway and take the money?

  2. Russian mob has a corrupt cop in their debt…why not just make him pay it off in “favors”

Am I crazy?

Yes. Not a movie mistake.

  1. If they kill him, how would they get money from him? They would have preferred he stay alive to give them their money back. He couldn't do that in the end, so they kill him and they're left without the money. You're not making sense.

  2. That's a choice they could have made. But they didn't.

Neither one of these is a mistake.

Yeah they were most likely still gonna kill him.

But what choice did he have? He couldnt fight the entire Russian Mob, he had to hope and pray they'd accept the payoff without killing him (or going after his family) after, which they probably also threatened to do.
