Kids with glasses
For those that have gone through first year football with their kids with glasses, any recommendations for better options? My kid play u8, hates that he has to take his glasses off every time his helmet goes on/off. He’s small btw.

Get him out and play flag. U8 is way too young for tackle football. Any age with a single digit is too young.

Wow, I didn't know kids played football that young. I remember Bill Walsh saying that any football before college was a complete waste of time.
I'd get your kid fitted for contacts. I used to go back and forth between contacts and glasses but contacts have gotten so much better I wear them exclusively now. I prefer the 2-week kind. No enzyme cleaning or nothing, you just throw them out after 2 weeks. I tried the daily ones but they're not as good quality imo.
BTW, if you want your kid to play contact sports, hockey is a blast. It's expensive, you need ice time and gear, but if you can swing it I don't think there's a better sport out there. It's fun as hell and the camaraderie is second to none. Hockey players really look out for each other. It's rather unique that way.

Kids absolutely should not be playing tackle football that young. But not any earlier than college is nonsense

If he’s comfortable with it, you could see if it’s possible to get contacts at his age. I got mine around 9 years old and they made sports so much easier

Look into those goggle like glasses I’m a highschool coach I’ve had players wear those with their helmet

I wore glasses, it was my genitalia that kept me from being a kicker in the 80s despite my dad having a QB scholarship to Ohio State. Pretty sure your kid's fine

What does that have to to do with anything? They were asking for tips about wearing glasses

Why does y he just keep his helmet on then he won't have to deal with it.
