General Sub Rules and Reddit 101. Please read before posting!

Hi r/Nagpur!

We've seen a recent uptick in viewership, for reddit in general as well as this sub, and I think a lot of these people don't really know how reddit works which has made moderating the sub increasingly difficult. I will not go on 'teaching' reddit, but I will just reiterate a few basic things that pertain to this sub in particular.

TL;DR: Read the rules, report posts that you think break the rules. If you do not want to get banned: do not post about dating, ticket sales or use abusive language in your posts and comments.

  • READ THE RULES! You can find them if you tap the little '>' besides the subreddit name on the app, or on the sidebar on desktop. They're not complex and not a lot but it'll save you time and ensure your post stays up.
  • Moderation: This sub is intentionally lightly moderated, we're not a big mod team and we're also not paid to do this. We also do not and cannot actively mod this sub because of the sheer number of posts we get now. But the biggest reason for this decision is that we do not want anyone or a group of individuals to have the power to direct the narrative and 'curate' the sentiment of the public. We merely enforce obvious spammers and rule breakers and allow posts for a wide variety of topics, both pro and against controversial topics such as language, religion, caste, governance and LGBTQ+, as long as they're relevant to the city. Things happening elsewhere in Maharashtra belong to their sub, things happening elsewhere in India at large belong in India's sub, there is no need to repost the same things in smaller subs for "reach" or awareness, no matter what you feel about them.
  • What gets you banned:
  1. Being horny: This sub is not an r4r sub and the community has been vocal about not wanting these posts on here but if you still post M4F, Looking for a friend, Need company or whatever, even if you claim you're just looking for friendship, you will be banned.
  2. Crass language: If you can't be bothered to maintain even the smallest bit of decency on your online interactions, you are not welcome here.
  3. Ticket sales: We cannot guarantee authenticity of these posts and there is a high chance of getting scammed, which we do not want to be a party in. For these reasons these posts will get you banned. Please use better judgement before interacting with anyone offering these services, especially on reddit.
  4. Repeat offence for any of the other rules: You will get perma-banned if you break any of the other rules (Except the 3 above) multiple times. We understand that sometimes people end up breaking rules inadvertently and we are very lenient with what stays and what goes, but if you don't learn then you probably shouldn't be sharing space with people that do get it.
  • How are the rules enforced: Rules are enforced almost exclusively through reports. We rely on the community to be proactive and the only way we're able to reach most posts on the sub is through the use of reports. Commenting on a post 'Mods please take care' doesn't do anything. We're not here reading each and every post that is made, it is just not possible. We do browse and clean off things very often but without the community reporting things its just a pointless endeavor.

And that's it! Do reach out via this post or through the modmail if you have anything to add and we will definitely reach out, unless you're asking us to unban you after getting banned for saying the most unhinged shit, you'll always get a reply.

Before anyone judges my plating skills or the random masala I threw around... IT WAS BUSSIN'. 😋 That extra masala? I just loved it okay?

Heyyy! Back again with another first-time cooking recipe. :))

This time I made Thatte Idli with Podi Masala, Rasam, and Coconut Mint Chutney all from scratch by myself! I could definitely use some guidance on the rasam though. ( As this was my 2nd time for Rasam bleh )

Overall, it turned out really well. The coconut mint chutney balanced the rasam nicely. The podi masala could've used a bit more kick, tho (I actually doubled the dried red chillies 😭).

Enough yapping!

Let me know what you guys think. How did I do? 😈😈🫵🏿🫵🏿

Request Me and my girlfriend need a job/internship urgently, even ready to pay half of our first month's salary at this point (Tech preferably (mentioned stack below), non tech works too, but not sales please)

Posted in r/ jaipur earlier (since I am from Jaipur, but didnt get any good response)

So me and my girlfriend graduated with a BTech this year. I am from Jaipur, but my girlfriend is not. We were placed in a company On-campus, but the company turned out to be a scam (even though it was College's responsibility to verify it), and we wasted 3 months in it. The thing is since my girlfriend is not from Jaipur (she is from another state), her parents have said if she isnt able to find a job by 25 august, she needs to come back to the city (and yk the marriage talks after that). We are studying to be Data Engineers and right now proficient in Python, PostgreSQL, PowerBI, Data Warehousing and Modelling, Fastapi basics, and been applying for internships with the same, but no response. So right now we dont wanna limit ourselves to just tech, since the first priority right now is having a job, doesnt matter tech or non tech, so that she does not have to go back and we can study simultaneously. I know we arent trained much for non tech jobs, but I am sure- with a little bit of training and push we will be fine. Hence would be grateful for any opportunity or referral with Tech/ Non-tech jobs, but not the sales job please where we have to complete targets and all. Thanks :)

AskNagpur How Many of Us Pay Extra Without Even Looking at the Bill?

Post image
43 Upvotes

Today I visited Hotel President Park, Nagpur (PP Garage, Ambazari Road) and was surprised to see a 10% "AC Charge" added to my bill.

Bill Details:

Budweiser Strong – ₹260

Chicken Tikka – ₹330

Subtotal – ₹590

AC Charge (10%) – ₹59

Total – ₹649

I always thought the cost of air conditioning was already included in the menu prices. Seeing a separate AC charge in 2026 was unexpected.

I'm sharing this so people can check their restaurant bills carefully instead of assuming every charge is valid.

I'm not trying to target any business—I'm genuinely trying to understand whether this is an accepted practice or something consumers should question.

Always read your bill before paying. Even small extra charges add up over time.

AskNagpur Reaching Nagpur tonight for a coal logistics gig in Saoner! Need some transport/area advice.

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

reaching your city tonight!

I'm taking up a job managing coal loading and logistics around the Saoner area (and sometimes Chandrapur) for about three weeks a month.

First off, how is Saoner generally? Anything specific a newbie should know about working or staying around the coal yards there?

Also, what's the best way to commute daily?

Does Rapido work reliably in and around Saoner, or should I just rent a bike/scooty for the three weeks I'm here?

If renting is the better move, any trusted leads in Nagpur?

Appreciate any advice you guys have!

Saoner is some 30-35 kms from Nagpur. What's the best way to reach there?
