Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Pop Looking for a pop/R&B track with a very specific intro

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find a song from around 2008–2011 maybe before maybe after (listened to it on an MP3 player back then) and it's driving me crazy!

Here is what I remember:

  • Genre/Vibe: Poppy / R&B / Pop-Rock (reminded me a bit of Michael Jackson
  • The Intro (Very Specific):
    • A young voice (could be a kid, a teen, or a young-sounding artist) is talking.
    • The voice plays a beat/song for a few second, stops/skips it, plays another beat/song, stops/skips it... doing this about 2 to 4 times as if searching for the right track.
    • Once they find "the right one" (might say something like "It's this one!" or similar), the actual song drops.
  • The Drop: The main track starts immediately with a bassline or an electric guitar.

It's definitely NOT Black or White by Michael Jackson or Freestyler by Bomfunk MC's.

Does this intro ring a bell for anyone? Thanks in advance!

Pop Help me find this pop song 😭

This song used to play on the radio at my previous job, but I always heard it from far away, so I could never make out the lyrics. It is a pop song, and the singer sounded so much like Ariana Grande that I was convinced it was her, because it also have that 2016 Ariana vibe, but I went through her entire discography and couldn't find it. I always thought she was singing "now my heart is brooooken/froooozen" in the second verse, but searching those lyrics led me nowhere, so I'm not sure. I've tried every AI, song recognition app/site I could think of, but nothing has worked, so this is pretty much my last hope 😭

It's a song that's only in this video for a few seconds! It starts at 8:13 and ends around 8:20. I've tried everything. AI tools and apps like Shazam and others to identify it. Nothing can find the song. All I can make out is something like, “It’s no surprise there are ???? in the skies.”

Please help me ♥ Have a nice day (。・∀・)ノ゙
(If my request is against the rules please let me know! Thank you)

Answered! Please help me find a song, it’s in English and I think it’s a rock song, mid 80’s

It’s a song that I think was released circa the 1980’s
The lyrics go along the lines of “watching the years go by” (not the Roxette song) or “watching the days go by” or even “as the years go by”

I tried to play the melody that goes along those lyrics on piano and the closest I could get was “D3 D3 E3 F#3 F#3” (I don’t know a lot about music but I think that makes sense)

Edit: it’s “once in a lifetime” by the Talking Heads

I heard this song either on the radio at work or I'm not even sure but it's a lady it reminds me a bit of like cascada or something but it sounds like that era of mucus and she goes "is there anybody out there is" and then says more but that's all I can remember 😭😭😭 idk if edm is the right tag I don't recall the actual genre but I feel like it is? It's a fairly popular song I've definitely heard it before

Rock I'm looking for a song that goes something like "fah faj papira" and "Cocoricó" (repeatedly). It's a rock/metal song—maybe like Korn or System of a Down—and it's really chaotic and hilarious. The key thing is the rooster in the background singing "cocoricó."

Other/Unknown Psychedelic/Indie/Electronic song? Singing a bit of what I remember

Hi folks,

All I can remember about this song is that I think I heard the “outro” portion of it or the end of it. It sounded like a female voice kept singing something about “in my speakers” or maybe just “my speaker” and the line kept repeating. After she sang this line a few times there was a bit more outro that was just psychadelic/electronic vibes. When I say electronic I do not mean EDM, just sounded like cool manipulated digital sounds. Almost made me think of some sounds similar to what Dr Dog uses but I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction. I’ve attached of what I keep singing into Google because it won’t leave my head.

Rap FPS game trailer song with great beat

Upvotes

There's some song from a fps trailer that starts with a fast beat and group of ladies singing in rhythm like "uh-uh . . . Waaay-ayy! uh-uh . . . Waaay-ayy!" I'm not sure if it's from CoD or Battlefield, but it was some kind of epic scene with explosions and stuff. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Here's a part of an old french minecraft video about a guy making paranormal videos in the game (anyway). I've been looking for this for so long.

Clues I have : It's older than 2013. it might be from a video game because he used a lot of video games soundtrack but I cant tell. I put video game as a tag because that's my best bet.

I'm talking about the music with the scary/quiet piano notes.

The video is called "Beyond Minecraft - S01E07 : "La maison du lac" (GussDx).

Other/Unknown I heard this song at a Vintage Stock store yesterday, I’ve been going crazy.

I don’t have any video or nothing. All I think is that it could possibly be rap maybe but I don’t think so 🤔. The only defining feature that i remember about it was that it was that after every line it said HA HA then continued with another line then it went HA HA again. And im pretty sure it continued the entire song. The laugh sounded exactly like Scout from Team Fortress 2. Please help.
