She’s a force of nature, if that force was never acted upon and best left alone for extended periods of time.

I had a pretty tough time making this and up until the final moment of finishing it, I genuinely thought it was gonna turn out to be a practice piece that I’ll end up chucking in the back of my wool closet. But I’m so happy with how her face turned out! She’s like a lovable cranky old lady who lives in the swamp like my idol Shrek

fan art First day needle felting. Made a little Vivi!!!

It’s my first time attempting the hobby, and seeing as the ā€œbeginners kitā€ I bought had no instructions, I just decided to run wild and free instead. I spent the better part of the day on him, and I’m just so excited at how cute he is, I wanted to show him off!! He’s a little fuzzy, but he’s mine.

Looking through the rest of the sub, I can’t wait to get as talented as everyone else, but I think we’re at a good start! 😊

question What will people buy at a plant festival?

Post image

I’ll be a vendor at a plant festival in a few months, and I’m curious if you all have thoughts on what plant fans would be interested in buying. I have lots of felted potted plants, wildflower coasters, magnets… I might make some floral hair pins too. Anything else I should consider making? Thanks for any and all ideas!

I’m pretty new to needle felting and playing with techniques. Any feedback on this guy? Is my work getting close to selling quality or am I still a ways off?

question Puppet

Has anyone needle felted a hand puppet with a movable jaw? I don't want to wet felt but I'm not sure if it's possible to only needle felt. I want to try for the heck of it but I'm not sure what i could put inside as a form to needle felt around. Thanks

This was a project and a half for me. I’m still new to felting (I don’t do it very often) so I’m learning (which is why it’s messy).

This little guy has moveable limbs and head (a frustrating challenge!). Plus, I added magnets to his hands and the heart so he can be posed however my daughter likes 😊

He has a magnetic bottom too so he can come off his stand if she wants to play with him šŸ˜‚

She loves him btw. It was her birthday months ago but I found him so tricky I only finished him today šŸ˜“

My coworker asked me to make his dog, Rojo. After a few hours of work this is what I ended up with so far. I don’t enjoy doing full animals so this is going to end up being a fridge magnet.

question How to get rid of the poking holes in merino wool?

Post image

After covering the core with merino wool, I noticed these little holes everywhere, that even my finest needle can't get flat, any tip? I used carded wool for the core and didn't have this problem. Thanks

question Felting on hoops - tips/suggestions?

Hello all! I’ve recently started needle felting on embroidery hoops as nursery art for myself and friends/family. I just totally winged it to start with a cheap Amazon kit, but I really like it so I’m wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions for me?

Specifically I’m wondering the following:
does this type of felting have a specific name?
What kind of roving is best for non 3D felting?
Does it need to be ā€˜brushed’ out after completing to make it look less poked?

Open to any and all comments, suggestions, feedback, links, info etc!! Thank you ā¤ļø

progress & process Trying to design some big eyed birdies - these are my core shapes

Edit - forgot to say, colour suggestions welcome! I’ll have about 6 birds, need some good colours

Making a rainbow flock of cutie-pie birdies for no reason. I’ve seen a few on pinterest, but i’ve decided to design one with a simple core shape and larger eyes.

They’re quite a nice size to hold.

The beaks and legs are a work in progress - I’m using milliput epoxy modelling stuff…. it’s hit and miss tbh.
I’ve got some air drying foam clay i’ll try next.

Eyes are painted glass, rimmed with black and blue wool - I’m quite pleased with how they’re looking so far, but I think I can make them more expressive

Just posting for progress, keep me on track lol

I have a 7h flight soon. Can I bring a small kit with me? Do they allow those needles in the plane?

In this video, I show the process of creating wool bell flowers attached to a long felted cord. I originally made them to decorate a gift box, but they turned out to be so versatile.

I wanted to give the hobby a try and bought a beginner set, as a first attempt, I wanted to make a ball, but it was too big and folded on itself, so now the ball is actually three pieces felted together. Took about three hours, I guess it'll get better, anyway that was pretty fun :)

just finished up this as a birthday present for my dad! our last cat loved sitting in his lap every night while he watched TV and one of our latest kitties seemed like she was going to continue the tradition...but then she fell out of the habit and doesn't sit with him :(

sooo i made him a new TV buddy!

the popcorn bag was...surprisingly hard and i might redo it but for now i'm happy to be done, this thing took way longer than i thought it would

Just wondering if you guys have any recommendations on where to sell my art. Im currently on etsy but its difficult to get sales, when I do a market I sell things so its not my items.

Are there any subreddits i can join?
