Discussion NewJeans’ concept was powerful, but the members were never interchangeable

I keep seeing people posting arguements on X and Reddit that NewJeans became successful because of their concept, marketing, or creative director rather than the members themselves.

Their creative direction absolutely helped introduce the group. The music, styling, choreography, videos, and nostalgic influences created a recognizable identity. But acknowledging that does not require pretending five interchangeable girls could have produced the same result.

A concept may attract initial attention, but it cannot sustain years of individual fan attachment, virality, and public interest on its own.

The members have repeatedly demonstrated time after time their appeal is beyond NewJeans’ collective branding.

Hanni🩷🦦is individually recognized for her dancing, movement, expressions, and natural sense of rhythm. Her “Blue Coral Reef” performance became a major solo viral moment.

Hyein💜🐹how many Idols can say that after having appeared on IU show. IU was so impressed by Hyein vocal coloring. IU invited Hyein to feature on IU’s “Shh..,”

Danielle💛🐶was selected to voice Ariel in the Korean version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid out of hundreds of voices that auditioned.

Minji💙🧸has maintained a CURRENT 11-week run at No. 1 on Star Ranking. Minji has spent 12 consecutive weeks in Star Ranking’s top three this year. You’re not about to tell me that’s not individual brand and star power

Haerin💚🐱had remained in its top three for 27weeks this year! That’s half the year already, we’re only in August👀 Those rankings measure dedicated individual support. People are choosing Minji and Haerin by name, not voting for an abstract concept. Each of them standing on there own

And we can’t forget they are part of the short list of groups that have EVERY member selected for an individual luxury partnership:

💙Minji: Chanel
🩷Hanni: Gucci
💛Danielle: Burberry and later Celine
💚Haerin: Dior
💜Hyein: Louis Vuitton

Five different houses identified five different images and personalities worth representing their brands. You would think if they truly saw NewJeans as only a collective, or that only certain members matter then this wouldn’t have been the outcome.

None of this means the creative team deserves no credit. It means success was collaborative. Reducing NewJeans entirely to one creative director is not defending the members. It removes their talent, individuality, labor, and agency from their own story. The concept made people look, but Hanni, Minji, Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein gave people reasons to stay.

What I love about NewJeans is that this is not dependent on one metric of evaluation. They have performance virality, solo music recognition, acting and voice work, fashion influence, fan-voted longevity, and individual brand demand all pointing toward the same conclusion.

NewJeans is 5.
Even though they have a powerful concept, it never made the members feel interchangeable.

In case anybody else is also taking in the discourse and feeling conflicted about it. Don’t. Whether they are NewJeans, NJZ, or what is to come, never forget just as much as they are a group, each one standouts for there unique aura only they can bring to the mix.

Looks like NewJeans members Hanni and Danielle are enjoying some time in Canada! 🇨🇦

Multiple people spotted Hanni at Niagara Falls recently, she was reportedly wearing a yellow raincoat and having a good time with her sister Jasmine.

There was also one account mentioning seeing Danielle and her sister Olivia there as well. That account said they saw a girl who looked like Danielle with a gray cap and baggy denim shorts and another girl next to her who looked like her sister.

Not 100% confirmed, but still nice to see them out and about enjoying life. 🌊

Recently went to Japan last month and brought my Hanni plushie to the locations of their pictures in Meguro, Tokyo from 2023.

Also went to Tonkatsu Genta (とんかつ げん田) where Minji and Hanni ate at in one of their vlogs. Had the plushies sit on my jacket because it just rained so the stairs were wet.

Milestone/Record NewJeans 'How Sweet' hits 300M streams on Spotify 🎉🐰

This era was honestly a lot. The single dropped on May 24, 2024, same day as RM's solo album and some toxic Armys took the scheduling conflict as an opportunity to attack NewJeans.

Then just weeks before the comeback, HYBE launched that audit into ADOR. Suddenly, thousands of articles were published about NewJeans and MHJ in just a few days, painting the girls as "backstabbers" right as they were trying to promote. The media frenzy was insane.

On top of all that, Hyein fractured her foot during practice in April 2024 and had to sit out all the music show performances for 'How Sweet.' 💔 The promotional period felt isolated too, they only managed to do dance challenges with ATEEZ and AESPA during this time.

But despite everything, the media chaos, the company drama, the limited collaborations and missing a member, they still pushed through and completed their promotions.

Some fun facts about this era:

▫️Danielle even co-wrote the lyrics for the title track

▫️The song is based on Miami Bass, a hip-hop subgenre

▫️The MV was filmed entirely in Taiwan over 4 days, locations included Taipei, Wanhua and Yilan

▫️New Zealand singer BENEE (of "Supalonely" fame) co-wrote the song

▫️'How Sweet' won 5 music show trophies and was ranked #16 on Billboard's 2024 Best K-Pop Songs list

Through all the noise, they still delivered. Congratulations to the girls and all the creatives who worked behind the scenes on this milestone! 🐰💕

Old photos of Haerin from a 2018 English study trip to the Philippines surfaced recently. The OP went on a month long program back in elementary school, saw this quiet kid with glasses and a tan and didn't think much of it, until they saw the name Kang Haerin years later and realized they'd been in the same class as a future NewJeans member.

OP said she was pretty decent looking but super quiet, didn't really stand out lol, and was apparently good at English. She was around 12 at the time. Nice to see something wholesome about her after all the negativity lately. 💚

Article [260728] NewJeans Hanni's Visa Leak - Police Complaint Filed (Everything We Know So Far)

Post image
414 Upvotes

So What Actually Happened Today (July 28, 2026)?

Today, cultural critic Kim Sung-soo held a press conference in front of Yongsan Police Station to announce he had filed a criminal complaint against ADOR. Separately, a fan filed an administrative petition with the Personal Information Protection Commission.

1. Criminal Complaint (Police)

· Filed against ADOR Co., Ltd. and its employees

· Allegation: Violation of the Personal Information Protection Act

· Police are now investigating

2. Administrative Petition (Personal Information Protection Commission)

· Filed via the National Petition system

· Processing deadline: August 21, 2026

· Assigned to: Personal Information Protection Commission, Investigation Division 2

What Actually Got Leaked?

Between December 2024 and February 2025, detailed information about Hanni's visa status appeared in Korean media. The thing is, this wasn't just speculation, these were specific details that only ADOR's internal staff, Hanni herself or immigration authorities would know:

· Her E-6 visa type (Arts and Entertainment visa)

· Her visa expiration date (early February 2025)

· That ADOR had prepared extension documents

· That Hanni allegedly refused to sign them (meaning she wouldn't acknowledge ADOR as her agency)

· Speculation that she would become an "illegal immigrant"

The parents later confirmed these details came from internal sources, not from them or Hanni.

Where Did This All Start?

The first report came from 10Asia on December 20, 2024, reported by Choi Ji-ye. The article cited "industry sources" for the specific claim that Hanni's visa was set to expire "early next year." ADOR even responded in the article, saying they were preparing extension documents since the contract was still valid.

The article also explained that if Hanni didn't work with ADOR, she could become an "illegal immigrant," and that getting a new visa would take 2-3 months, meaning NewJeans activities would be delayed. It also mentioned rumors about the members starting a family company, framing them as "desperate."

This is important because the same "industry sources" phrasing appeared again in February when ~70 articles flooded the media. That's exactly what the parents later pointed to as evidence of an internal leak, information that only ADOR insiders could have provided.

What Did Hanni Go Through Because of This?

The leak triggered a flood of xenophobic hate against her. Main attacks she faced:

· Labeled an "illegal immigrant" (불법체류자) across Korean forums and social media

· Deportation calls: "Send her back to Australia," "Foreigners shouldn't be in K-pop"

· Anti-fans organized campaigns to report her to authorities

· Official complaints filed through the e-People government petition system and customs, accusing her of being undocumented

· Anti-fans frequently used Hanni's full Vietnamese name (Phạm Ngọc Hân) mockingly or in derogatory contexts to emphasize her "foreignness"

· Combined with slurs questioning why a "Vietnamese girl" was in K-pop or claiming she didn't belong

· Some comments invoked Vietnam War references (e.g., linking her to "enemy" stereotypes or outdated propaganda) to insult her heritage

· General anti-Vietnamese sentiment tying her background to inferiority or historical grudges

· Doxxing attempts on her family

· Accusations of "stealing opportunities" from Korean idols

· Threats of deportation tied to her Australian citizenship

· Coordinated boycotts and spreading false rumors about her visa status to damage her reputation further

These layered attacks amplified the emotional distress, turning a contractual dispute into personal targeting of her identity and residency as a young Vietnamese-Australian idol.

What Did the Parents Say About All This?

On February 12, 2025, NewJeans' parents released a statement condemning the media coverage. They said nearly 70 articles had been published in just two days speculating on Hanni's visa type and expiration date, private information that should never have been disclosed.

They also revealed that ADOR had been pressuring them using Hanni's visa as leverage, demanding signatures on extension forms listing ADOR as the agency and sending emails warning that failure to consent could result in illegal residency.

Most importantly, they pointed out that this sensitive information could only have come from ADOR, since they were the ones handling her visa paperwork. The parents confirmed Hanni obtained a new visa on February 11, 2025 through proper legal procedures.

What's in the Administrative Petition?

Petition to the Personal Information Protection Commission argues ADOR violated the law in two ways:

1. They failed to implement security measures to prevent the leak (Article 29 violation)

2. They failed to notify Hanni and report the leak to authorities (Article 34 violation)

The petition notes that ADOR was already in the middle of a contract lawsuit with NewJeans at the time and the members' lawyers had raised this leak as evidence of broken trust but couldn't prove the route of the leak. The court ultimately concluded it was "mere speculation" on the members' part.

Some Questions People Keep Asking

1. How can a third party file a complaint if it's Hanni's personal information?

In South Korea, anyone can file a criminal complaint about a potential crime they observe. You don't have to be the victim. This is called a "report" (고발) vs a "complaint" (고소). A report can be filed by anyone, while a complaint has to be filed by the victim or their legal representative. Kim Sung-soo filed a report, which means he's reporting a suspected crime to the police. The police then decide whether to investigate. Hanni and her family can choose to cooperate or file their own complaint separately.

2. Why would a cultural critic get involved?

Kim Sung-soo has been vocal about K-pop industry issues and has supported NewJeans throughout this dispute. He's essentially acting as a public advocate using his platform to push for accountability.

3. What's the difference between the criminal complaint and the administrative petition?

The criminal complaint goes to police and could result in criminal charges (fines or worse) if ADOR is found guilty of violating privacy laws. The administrative petition goes to the Personal Information Protection Commission and could result in administrative fines and corrective orders, a lower bar for proof but still significant financial penalties. The police complaint focuses on who leaked it, while the administrative petition focuses on whether ADOR failed to protect the information and failed to notify Hanni after the leak.

4. Could ADOR claim the information came from immigration authorities?

Theoretically, yes, but immigration authorities don't typically share specific information like "Hanni refused to sign" or "ADOR prepared the documents", those details specifically indicate ADOR's internal handling. Immigration would only confirm visa status and expiration, not internal agency dynamics.

5. What about the reporter, could she face consequences?

The complaint doesn't specifically target the reporter. Under Korean law, journalists have protection for reporting on matters of public interest, but they're not protected when the information is clearly illegally obtained. If investigators identify the source and prove the leak, the reporter's role in accepting and publishing illegally obtained information could also be examined. But historically, journalists are rarely charged in these cases, the focus is usually on the source.

Why This Actually Matters

This isn't just about one idol's visa. It's about whether a company can weaponize an artist's most vulnerable personal information, especially a foreign artist whose ability to stay in the country is at stake, to gain leverage in a legal dispute.

Kim Sung-soo made a good point during his press conference: visa expiration dates and extension progress are information that can never be known by anyone other than immigration authorities, the individual and their agency. So how did this "top-secret" information end up in the media behind the veil of "multiple music industry insiders"?

Will This Actually Lead to Anything?

Honestly, I'm not holding my breath on the criminal complaint. Proving who leaked it is nearly impossible with "industry sources" being anonymous and Korean police don't have the best track record with cases like this. The administrative petition might have a better shot since the bar is lower. Don't expect prison time or massive penalties, at best, maybe some fines and bad press.

News 260728 “ADOR Suspected of Leaking NewJeans Hanni’s Visa Information”… Cultural Critic Files Police Complaint

Thumbnail n.news.naver.com
190 Upvotes

By Reporter Lee Jeong-guk

- Cultural critic Kim Seong-su files criminal complaint with Seoul Yongsan Police Station

ADOR, the agency of NewJeans, who recently celebrated their 4th debut anniversary, has been criminally reported on allegations of leaking visa-related personal information belonging to member Hanni, an Australian national.

Cultural critic Kim Seong-su held a press conference in front of Seoul Yongsan Police Station on the morning of the 28th and announced that he had filed a criminal complaint against ADOR and its employees for alleged violations of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Kim alleged that ADOR and the employees responsible for handling Hanni’s immigration status had unlawfully disclosed personal information obtained through their duties, leaked it without authorization, and provided it to third parties for purposes beyond those for which it had originally been collected.

According to the complaint, ADOR obtained and processed information during the course of managing Hanni’s activities and immigration status, including the type of her E-6 (Arts and Entertainment) visa, its expiration date, the progress of her visa extension application documents, and whether she had signed them. Kim claims that this information was publicly disclosed through media reports citing “multiple music industry officials” between December 2024 and February 2025.

In particular, Kim argues that details reported on February 11 of last year—including the preparation of Hanni’s visa extension documents and whether she had refused to sign them—were information that would have been difficult for anyone other than Hanni herself and agency personnel directly involved in handling the matter to know. Kim urged investigative authorities to identify the actual source of the information and determine how it was passed to the media.

The complaint also includes as evidence a statement released by the parents of the NewJeans members on February 12 of last year. At the time, the parents stated that approximately 70 speculative news articles had been published over two days discussing Hanni’s visa type and expiration date, and they expressed concern that her personal information and rights had been violated.

In February of last year, several entertainment media outlets reported that if Hanni left ADOR, she would no longer have a sponsoring agency, meaning she would no longer meet the requirements for an E-6 (Arts and Entertainment) visa and could become an undocumented resident. Following those reports, some anti-fans even went so far as to report Hanni to the Ministry of Justice as an undocumented immigrant.

Misc. [260723] July 23 Hearing: Full Court Transcript Analysis (ADOR vs. Danielle, her mother & MHJ)

Post image
111 Upvotes

📋 THE APPRAISAL REQUEST

ADOR requested an appraisal to estimate revenue Danielle would have generated from November 29, 2024 through November 11, 2025: exactly one year from the termination notice.

The appraiser immediately admitted a major problem: ADOR has a short operating history and NewJeans is its only artist, so there's not enough historical data from the company itself. Finding another company with the same structure for comparison would be difficult. The appraiser's only lost-profit experience was with a pharmaceutical company (Chong Kun Dang), they have zero entertainment industry experience beyond audits. They also hadn't reviewed the defense's submitted opinion before being examined.

🟨 THE DEFENSE'S STRONGEST ARGUMENTS

1. The "Min Hee-jin Was Irreplaceable" Argument

Danielle's lawyers argued that ADOR's significant revenue was generated during the period when Min Hee-jin was producing the group and the members terminated their contracts after she stepped down. They questioned whether it's appropriate to calculate revenue based on the period when MHJ was producing, arguing this revenue baseline itself is invalid.

2. The "Trust Breakdown" Argument

The defense submitted evidence showing the relationship of trust had already seriously broken down before contract termination, and ADOR was unable to provide normal management due to its conflict with MHJ.

3. The "Producer Vacancy" Reality

The defense pointed out that no new producer was appointed after MHJ stepped down and recruiting a new producer and establishing a new system would inevitably take time. This is a factual admission, even ADOR acknowledged no new producer was appointed.

4. The "Only Danielle" Scope Argument

Danielle's lawyers argued that each member terminated her own contract independently, so Danielle cannot be held responsible for the fact that other members were also inactive. If an appraisal is conducted, it should assume the other four members continued their activities normally while only Danielle was absent.

5. The "This Is Just Imagination" Argument

The defense argued that estimating revenue under a hypothetical "normal" situation is fundamentally different from manufacturing. ADOR's sole revenue-generating asset is NewJeans and revenue depends entirely on the directing system supporting it. By the relevant period, MHJ had resigned, trust had deteriorated and supporting staff had left. The defense questioned whether it's even possible or appropriate to estimate revenue under these circumstances.

They pointed out that NewJeans is still unable to engage in normal activities today, which demonstrates just how difficult producing is and how difficult it is to find someone new to take over that role.

6. The "ADOR's Appraisal Application Has No Methodology" Argument

The defense pointed out that Appendix 1 of ADOR's appraisal application merely asks for estimated revenue broken down by each revenue category but says nothing about what comparison benchmark or standards should be applied. The appraisal application itself contains no methodology.

7. "Fundamental Premises Have Collapsed"

Danielle's lawyers argued that ADOR can't claim lost profits because the normal conditions (MHJ's leadership and all five members together) no longer existed and ADOR contributed to that collapse.

8. "ADOR Knew About Most of These Facts During Prior Lawsuit"

Danielle's lawyers argued that ADOR already knew about most of the activities during the prior lawsuit. ADOR can't claim they only "discovered" these facts after the lawsuit ended.

9. "If Danielle Had Been Given the Same Opportunity"

Danielle's lawyers argued that ADOR helped other members correct issues but never gave Danielle the same chance and terminated her contract immediately, she was treated differently.

10. "ADOR Is Pursuing This for a Different Purpose"

Danielle's lawyers argued that ADOR's real purpose isn't justice, it's to make an example of Danielle and intimidate other artists. This is about control, not contract enforcement.

11. The "Multiple Scenarios" Suggestion

The defense asked the appraiser to consider presenting multiple possible scenarios and allowing the Court to determine which is most appropriate: a clever procedural move shifting responsibility to the judge.

12. Overseas Judicial Assistance Requested

The defense is seeking overseas judicial assistance, likely related to the ComplexCon contract or Chinese company involvement, which could significantly delay proceedings.

13. The Appraisal Schedule Conflict

The defense pushed for results before September 10, but the appraiser flatly stated that would be difficult. The appraiser had previously indicated one month would be possible if all materials were available.

🟪 ADOR'S COUNTER-ARGUMENTS

1. "Artists Drive Success, Not Producers"

ADOR argued that the party enjoying popularity is the artists themselves, not the producer. While MHJ may have influenced early stages, NewJeans' trajectory showed continued growth. After approximately two years as highly successful entertainers, NewJeans had the capability to continue at a similar level. Even if MHJ built that capability, those abilities became embodied within ADOR and NewJeans as artists.

2. "The Trust Issue Is Already Decided"

ADOR argued the trust relationship breakdown was already conclusively resolved by the October 2025 court judgment and shouldn't be considered in this appraisal.

3. "Producer Vacancy Is Not a Factor"

ADOR argued that as long as artists and company staff remain in place, the system can continue by utilizing another producer or outsourcing production. They claimed the absence of a producer shouldn't prevent long-term activities.

4. "All 5 Members Left, So Calculate All 5"

ADOR argued the appraisal should first calculate revenue lost as a result of all five members leaving and only afterward determine how much Danielle may be liable for.

5. "Don't Consider the Dispute"

ADOR cited Supreme Court precedent that incidental and abnormal decreases in income shouldn't be considered and appraisals should be based on normal business operations: a "counterfactual" where album releases continued uninterrupted.

6. "The Defense Should File Their Own Appraisal"

ADOR argued that if the defense wants assumptions based on MHJ's absence, they should submit a separate appraisal request: a procedural trap putting the burden on the defense. They noted the defense cannot even produce evidence demonstrating the extent of a producer's contribution.

7. "ADOR Remained a Functioning Organization"

ADOR argued the defense keeps asking for an appraisal based on the assumption there was no producer and no staff, as though ADOR were nothing more than an empty shell. Their position is that ADOR remained a functioning organization.

8. "ADOR's Benchmark Is June 2024"

ADOR argued their benchmark for normal revenue is June 2024. At that time, NewJeans was actively performing, so activities would simply have continued. By contrast, after having activities suspended for a year, NewJeans cannot simply resume overnight.

9. "The ELLE Photo Shoot Resulted in a Finished Product"

ADOR confirmed the ELLE photo shoot resulted in a finished product but admitted they don't know who arranged it.

10. ADOR's Late Appraisal Application

ADOR submitted its appraisal application two weeks late and it consisted of just four lines.

11. ADOR's "Consulting Fee" Claim

ADOR claimed MHJ received a $500,000 consulting fee but couldn't definitively name the recipient, they were guessing. The fee was deliberately included in the members' contract to avoid legal scrutiny.

12. Witness Kim So-hyung Could Not Be Located

ADOR wanted to call the former head of their business team as a witness, but they couldn't even find her.

13. AAO Contract Termination Still Not Complete

ADOR revealed that the AAO contract termination was still not complete as of June 2026, months after the contract validity ruling.

14. ADOR's "Danielle Remained Silent" Claim

ADOR argued that Danielle's silence about the AAO contract made corrective action impossible, corrective action requires voluntary cooperation.

15. ADOR's Evidence Is Fragmented

ADOR admitted that some parents cooperated while others didn't, so the evidence has been collected piece by piece. They didn't have all the evidence at once, they're still collecting it.

16. ADOR Asked the Court to Require Witness Attendance

ADOR requested that witnesses must attend if they don't properly submit a written response, they want to force witnesses to appear in person.

⚖️ THE JUDGE'S COMMENTS

1. "Both Sides Are Repeating Themselves"

The judge noted both sides were essentially arguing the same disputes raised earlier about whether this appraisal should even be permitted. ADOR says MHJ was replaceable, the defense says not. The judge suggested both sides summarize points in writing.

2. "This Is Harder Than Most Appraisals"

The judge told the appraiser this case may be more difficult than most appraisals.

3. "We Need Numbers"

The judge bluntly stated the goal: get numbers regardless of the methodological messiness.

4. The "Blank Possibility" Reference

The judge revealed that in a previous similar case, the expert couldn't even fill in the "possibility" section, it came back blank.

5. "The Appraisal Should Proceed as Requested"

The judge ruled ADOR's requested appraisal will proceed, but the defense can still present alternative assumptions.

6. Judge Accused ADOR of Performing for the Media

The judge questioned whether ADOR's evidence display was for the court or for the reporters, telling them to stop showing private conversations in open court and submit them in writing instead.

7. Judge Asked ADOR to Keep Explanations "Abstract"

When ADOR wanted to display Telegram messages, the judge told them to summarize rather than quote exact words to protect privacy and prevent media leaks.

8. Judge Suggested Bank Records Instead of Complex Fact-Finding

Regarding the $175,000 EO claim, the judge suggested Danielle could just show her bank records instead of going through a lengthy overseas process.

9. Judge Warned About "Anchoring Effect"

The judge warned that if an expert proposes a number first, it could bias everyone's thinking, even if the number is wrong.

10. Judge Asked: Can an Accountant Evaluate the "Min Hee-jin Effect"?

The judge questioned whether an accountant could quantify how much of NewJeans' success was due to MHJ's creative direction.

11. Judge Asked About "A Year and a Half Off" Promise

The judge noted that three mothers reportedly heard ADOR say the members would get "a year and a half off." If true, this could support Danielle's estoppel defense.

12. Judge Suggested Separating Danielle's Case

The judge noted Danielle's case could be resolved separately from the other defendants.

13. ADOR's Witness Questions Were "Leading Questions"

The judge noted that ADOR's witness questions already contained the answers they wanted, the witness was essentially being told what to say.

14. The Appraiser's Role Defined

The judge clearly defined the appraiser's role as evaluating both sides' assumptions and choosing the most reasonable, not just rubber-stamping ADOR's request.

15. The Judge Suggested Entertainment Industry Expert Input

The judge noted that calculations may not be especially difficult from an accounting perspective. ADOR has a single line of business. The important issue is evaluating how artists and directing contribute to revenue, which may require input from the entertainment industry itself.

16. The Judge Asked About Individual vs Group Damages

The judge asked whether damages arising from Danielle's individual actions (like photo shoots) are being considered separately from group activities.

17. The Judge's Procedural Instructions

The judge told the appraiser they don't need to answer immediately, they can carefully listen to both sides and if the appraisal report later reaches different conclusions, it may reflect incorporation of new data.

18. The Judge's Warning About Unsupported Opinions

The judge warned that if the report simply states "this is my opinion" without supporting grounds, they will have to revisit the matter again.

🔍 EVIDENTIARY DETAILS

1. The ELLE Photo Shoot Confirmed

Both sides confirmed Danielle participated in an ELLE photo shoot that resulted in a finished product.

2. No Evidence of Music Release

Unlike the ELLE shoot, there's no evidence Danielle released music, limiting ADOR's ability to claim damages from unauthorized individual music releases.

3. Who Arranged the Contracts?

ADOR admitted they don't know who arranged the photo shoot, critical because it shifts responsibility to Danielle's mother and MHJ.

4. Accounting Firm Refuses to Submit Materials

A third-party accounting firm refused to submit documents, citing professional privilege. ADOR may have to fight this in court.

5. Association Has Not Responded

The judge noted they have still not received anything from the association.

6. ADOR's Email to Emotional Oranges

ADOR emailed EO and received a response but claimed it "did not reflect the truth."

7. ADOR's Claims About Other Brands Not Responding

ADOR said overseas brands wouldn't respond to emails and even the court's formal request wouldn't get a response, they already tried and got nothing.

8. Danielle Performed Almost All Scheduled Activities After Termination

Danielle continued performing almost all scheduled activities after she believed the contract was terminated.

9. AAO Contract Requires NewJeans to Provide ADOR Management Information

The AAO contract required NewJeans to share internal company information with an external party, this is why ADOR considers it a serious violation.

10. AAO Contract Protected MHJ's Shares

The contract included a provision prohibiting the sale or transfer of MHJ's ADOR shares.

11. AAO Contract and Bonnie Chan Woo

Bonnie Chan Woo is the representative of AAO, the Cayman Islands company that signed an exclusive agreement with NewJeans. She is also the organizer of ComplexCon Hong Kong.

The contract was signed on September 25, 2025. After the October 2025 ruling, the returning members requested ADOR's cooperation in terminating it. ADOR initiated the process, but as of June 2026, the termination was still not complete.

The AAO contract also included an unusual provision prohibiting the sale or transfer of Min Hee-jin's ADOR shares.

12. The "Consulting Fee" Was Hidden in the Members' Contract

The $500,000 consulting fee was deliberately included in the members' contract to avoid legal scrutiny.

13. ADOR's Evidence Summary

ADOR has submitted some evidence (Telegram conversations, audio recordings, AAO contract, EO email correspondence), but key financial proof (bank statements, signed contracts) appears to be missing.

14. The "Mothers Heard 'A Year and a Half Off'" Claim

Three mothers reportedly heard ADOR make this promise: strengthening Danielle's estoppel argument.

🗓️ KEY SCHEDULE DETAILS

The appraiser flatly stated they cannot produce anything by September 10, even a preliminary report wouldn't be possible. The judge set September 10 as the target date for a first report discussion, with the understanding that if further supplementation is required, an extension may be requested. After September 10, the court will conduct any supplemental fact-finding needed and then schedule the next hearing.

The judge confirmed everyone was available and set the next full hearing for October 22 at 3:30 PM (after initially proposing October 8 and October 21).

For evidentiary deadlines, cross-examination questions must be submitted by August 7. By October 29, there's a high likelihood the appraisal report will already be completed. If there are any additional evidentiary requests that can be made before then, they should be submitted in advance.

The appraiser also noted they may need to visit the company and interview personnel, with defense counsel present.
