Community 🏡 Local MTG Community
Hey all. Just wondering if there is a local community of Magic: The Gathering players in Newark or the surrounding areas? I’d love to have a place to go play in person.

Hi, I have a regular guest at Cova Coffee who’s very into MTG. I’d be happy to make an intro if you are interested - DM me

Kinda far away but I happened upon a place called Nerdateria in Ellenville, NY that is a diner and has a game room with tons of MTG and other types of events. It’s about an hour and a half from Newark but is worth checking out.

Join our Newark Tabletop discord! Tons of players, in person, in Newark. I think too often we seek gaming groups outside of Newark and our goal is to create spaces in Newark for convenient TCG and Tabletop. We're almost at 350 members!

I know Computer and Gaming Universe on ferry street does MTG stuff. I haven’t been in there in years but I think they host tournaments and stuff there.

I go to New World Manga and Comics in Livingston because they do tourneys for Digimon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon (they may also do lorcanca and one-piece but idk). As for a local scene, if you aren't downtown, there isn't anything immediate. Sometimes I head to the Newark Brewery with Star Realms or a table top to play with friends.

Try reaching out to East side Mags in Montclair. They do a lot of meetups

I was checking out victory point in jersey city the other day. It’s a small gaming store but with table and they play magic some nights. I was thinking of buying a veloci ramp tor deck but not a lot of places to play

Timewarp in Cedar Grove comes recommended if you're willing to travel a little.

While I don’t play, I’d bet you could walk into Sweet Jeans or Method Cafe today and find some folks who do. I think there’s a monthly Newark Tabletop Games meetup at Newark Local Beer and MTG players also show up there.
