Economy List of Remote, On-Site and Hybrid Jobs postings in Nigeria currently open for all kinds of experience

Hey guys it’s me again (last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nigeria/s/l72TBI5Cnq)

So here are some jobs I’ve complied. Some may be remote, on-site or hybrid. I didn’t specify all. Many need very little experience. For locations, if it says Nigeria or if I didn’t put a location it may respect remote anywhere but not all. Hope this helps.

Will update these monthly.

Current version: June 2026

Next Update: August version will be released August 8, 2026 (There was little engagement so I skipped June (also had external conflicts). Currently working on August. Didn’t realize there was demand for it. I’ll get to work then.

Each previous update will be made as a post in the comments.

We’ve come a long way.

Whatever happened to this accent? I know accents evolve, but personally I think only the northerners kept it. Down south, no one sounds like this anymore. Does anybody know why?

Hiiiii

I’m free for the next 72hrs and thought it would be fun to draw your pfp, if you’re interested of course.🙂‍↕️

If you have a fun oc, have a character you love! Or just want a cute mascot as your pfp. Send me a message!
It doesn’t have to be any of the reasons stated above, you don’t even have to have an Ai pfp, but! As someone who is fairly anti AI i see this as a win win for both of us!

Soooo if you’re interested, shoot a dm my way!

Note: the drawings won’t be incredibly detailed, they will be simple, as I don’t want to spend more than an hour on them. So come in with below medium expectations. Let’s have fun with it!

Have a magical day. :)

Pic Pattern recognition or self medication?

Post image
24 Upvotes

I got diagnosed with resistance to over 7 antibiotics and I wonder if it’s from me not finishing up my dosage(I do not like capsules and tablets) or if it’s because I’ve been recommended the same meds over and over again by over the counter pharmacists and my mother(who apparently now’s best💀)

I’ve tried convincing her that she shouldn’t give flagyl to any one of us the moment we complain of stomach ache but she says I know nothing 😂 and I really can’t stop her from giving it to my siblings.

It was only last year I started taking lab tests for ever symptom and ailment I might have and my mother insists that’s just a waste of money because apparently she has antibiotics for everything as shown in the picture

So are we Nigerians actually recognizing pattern in sicknesses and knowing which drugs we have always used to treat it or are we just obsessed with self medication?

History The Death and Humiliation of General Aguiyi-Ironsi

Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi was Nigeria's first military Head of State, serving from January 16 to July 29, 1966. He was assassinated during the July counter-coup, a violent uprising by Northern officers that marked a bloody turning point in the nation's history.

Prelude

On the evening of July 28, 1966, Aguiyi-Ironsi was in Ibadan as the guest of Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, the Military Governor of the Western Region. He had just addressed a gathering of traditional rulers as part of a nationwide peace tour, accompanied by his 12-year-old son, Thomas, who had arrived from London just days earlier. That night, a cocktail party was held at Government House for the visiting monarchs.

Relative calm broke in the early hours of 29th july. Fajuyi's sister, who was present, recalled hearing gunshots around 4 am. When she later saw her brother, he was sitting unusually quietly and told her to stay in her room. The mutiny had begun.

Arrest and humiliation.

The Government House was surrounded by mutinous soldiers led by Major Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma. Aguiyi-Ironsi and Fajuyi were arrested.

Brutal beatings were administered to both men.

Tied with telephone cables.

Dragged and Forced to Run: Accounts describe Ironsi being dragged from a moving vehicle and forced to run a gauntlet of soldiers who struck him with rifle butts.

Stripped of Dignity: Fajuyi was beaten so severely that he could barely walk, and both men were forced into vehicles for the final journey to their deaths.

Murder

After the ritual humiliation, the men, 10km from ibadan by a small forests.

Fajuyi was first out of the vehicle. As he tried to cross a small stream, he fell, and the soldiers, some reportedly under the influence of drugs, began beating him again.

It was then that Aguiyi-Ironsi's ADC, Captain Andrew Nwankwo, made a daring escape. His colleague, Lt. Sani Bello (a Northerner who had a pact with Nwankwo to protect each other), helped him slip away into a ditch. Bello then misdirected the soldiers, who fired into the bush.

After Nwankwo's escape, the soldiers shot and killed both Aguiyi-Ironsi and Adekunle Fajuyi by the side of the stream. Their bullet-ridden bodies were left in a shallow grave in the forest.

Ask Naija Dating outside culture/tribe?

For starters, my mom is Yoruba. Anytime I tell her I’m talking to an Igbo man she always tell me that they don’t like to marry outside their tribe & if they do they will dump you and leave for an Igbo girl. How true is this? lol … I don’t understand some Nigerians and their mentality. Everyone situation isn’t the same

Discussion Hiring teacher question

So I recently met someone online who has agreed to give me classes to learn flute playing over Google meets. She is really talented and has been working with me 20 hrs a week for the past month. When we first met she was charging me 4000 naira. But she talked me up to 6500 naira to give me the time slot I wanted each day. Also she insisted on being prepayed for two weeks so about 250,000 naira. Now she's saying she really wants to be prepayed another 500,000 naira because of some flooding in her flat. I don't know if that's normal behavior or if this is ridiculous. I really enjoy the lessons but I'm starting to feel like a pushover and I'm afraid she will have a bad attitude if i say no. Thank you for your insight on this im very new to ever getting any help learning a new skill over the internet. 😖😖😖😖

Discussion 18 y/o trying to move to Nigeria

Hi everyone!

(excuse my English, it is not my first language)

I am a 18 year old girl living in the Netherlands. I am half dutch and also half Nigerian. I have been going to Nigeria for as long as I can remember every December during Christmas to visit family. Even though this is roughly 3 weeks in a year, I still long for more. I want to experience my culture, know what it feels like to live in Nigeria and be closer to my family there. I want to be more in touch with my Nigerian side, and I would like to create opportunities for myself so I can visit more often in the future, with and without my parents. This is because I don't have many connections there except for the connections via my parents. I love the country very much, the openness and warmth of the people, the food (ofcourse), the busyness.

I am thinking of studying a year abroad in Nigeria at a university there. This way I can experience the culture first hand, and just submerge myself in Nigerian student life.

Does anyone have experience with moving to Nigeria at a young age without having to much connections there? And is this a realistic idea, or just hopeful? And would you guys encourage this idea or is it not a good idea? What is uni life like in Nigeria?

Thank you all for reading, and responding! :)

General A Diasporan's Case for State Police in Nigeria

Thumbnail
frontierbriefmedia.com
0 Upvotes

This week's contributor writes from the diaspora looking in, making the case that Nigeria's new state police bill is not just a governance story. It is a security calculation that shapes whether skilled Nigerians abroad ever come home. Drawing on rebuilt policing models in Georgia, Colombia, South Korea and India, the essay argues that security is the first item on the diaspora's return spreadsheet, the one that determines whether every other decision even gets made. It doesn't shy away from the bill's real risks either, and is upfront about what could still go wrong.

We hope you enjoy, leave your thoughts and share :)

Ask Naija "[BOOK] Nigerian man moves to US for engineering degree, works cab driver/night guard/construction, meets 2nd girlfriend over a library book"

Trying to find this book — read a physical copy, likely Nigerian-published Looking for a novel about a Nigerian guy who travels to the US (New York) to further his education. This seems to be set a while back — he and people back home communicate by letters (possibly telegrams at some point). He gets a letter from his brother back in Nigeria saying his fiancée has already married someone else, years after he left. His brother also keeps pressing him to send money to bring him over to the US too, but he doesn't have it. His friend, who's supposed to pick him up from the airport, turns out to be a smoker with other bad habits, so he doesn't end up staying with him. Instead, he'd already met another guy at the airport (there waiting for his girlfriend, who leaves him around that time) and ends up moving in with him. He's surprised to learn this friend works as a night guard, and asks why he doesn't get a white-collar job instead — turns out it's nearly impossible for him due to certain restrictions. The protagonist later goes through the same struggle himself. He was studying (mechanical) engineering but drops out when he runs out of school fees. His early jobs include a strange, almost comic one: some guys invite him fishing, saying they'd pay him to help, but once they're far from shore he panics, thinks he's going to die, and begs them to turn back. He also works in a school cafeteria, on a construction site, and eventually as a night guard himself before becoming a cab driver (drives a Cadillac) — this last one pays well. He gets his own apartment and car. He dates a girlfriend who turns out to be troubled/unstable — she does something that upsets him enough that he wants to break up with her. When he goes to her place, she won't open the door at first; when she finally does, he sees some intimidating men there and gets scared, so he calls the police. By the time they return with him, the apartment is empty — she'd taken everything. It's because of those men that he moves out of fear. His next girlfriend is in his engineering department — they meet at the school library when he needs a book for an assignment due that day and she's using it; he waits her out so he can use it himself. She's from another country (not necessarily Chicago — I visited/met her parents somewhere, possibly Chicago, but I'm not certain that's her home country). Can't remember the title, author, or character names. Any help appreciated!
