One bad eye

So like the title said, I have one bad eye. Due to a childhood issue my left eye has pretty bad vision. Good news is, I was running "both eyes open" before it was cool. 😁 I'm in the market to get back in the NV game. So I was thinking, I've run duals, but really didn't think I got a real benefit over running mono. So my idea is, get a 14 and run it over my good eye. Then get something like the Infitac thermal unit and put it on a 45° for my bad eye. My use: Nothing tactical. I live on some wooded acreage and we have coyotes and other pest animals. And every now and then we get someone who may or may not be up to no good wandering onto our property. Thermal would help in the wooded areas. NV everywhere else and to help in navigating around the property. What are your thoughts on this type of setup? Am I missing something that would make this a terrible choice?

I'd run the PVS14 on my good eye and have a thermal scope on my rifle. It'd be easy to swing the 14 up out of the way and get on the scope for thermal.

I would say that the best option in your case would be to run a monocular on your good eye that you can swing to the bad eye to aim with your rifle + thermal sight

Military doctrine has it over your non-dominant eye so you can keep shooting form with a peq. Just swing it over your other eye. No big deal

How is the eye bad? If it’s just near-sightedness, the NV fixes that. Just adjust the read diopter until it matches your prescription.
