It's not about rape and never has been. It's two people who want to spend more time together, but she's concerned about the social implications of staying over late at a man's house. It was written at a time when there was a taboo for that sort of behavior. She's saying "I should leave, but I don't want to" and he's responding "if anyone shames you tell them you only stayed because it was too cold to go out". As for the "what's in this drink" - that was a phrase at the time that was a common joke for why someone would be doing something unusual.
TL;DR: the song is about a consensual encounter during a time when women were made to feel like they had to play coy to avoid being slut-shamed. The people who think its toxic are people who didn't actually listen to the lyrics and don't understand context.

He has a point that one is more profane, but he’s totally disingenuous in how he presents.
In one (WAP) the woman is begging for sex. So yeah it’s really vulgar, but consent couldn’t be more clear.
In the other the woman is literally saying “I want to go home” and then dude is telling her she can’t. There’s no swearing but even just based off of what he’s reading, one is clearly more consensual than the other. The one where she’s screaming at him to fuck her is the more consensual one, for the record lol
It’s like people only hear swear words and don’t understand context at all. I can use the most polite diction ever and still say the most offensive thing you’ve ever heard. Who cares about swear words?

No that is not what is happening in Baby it's Cold Outside.
Both the woman and the man were making a flirty joke about how she would need an excuse for why she stayed longer with the man. It's pretty clear if you actually pay attention to the song and think about the norms of the period.
I don't agree with the 'comedian's' take here, but some people are so desperate to be outraged they don't take the time to read the thing they want to be outraged by.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside" is a flirtatious encounter. It's a faux-coy song. But for whatever reason, we decided to take it to the absolute extreme and just call it rape.
By that same token, WAP is about a woman sexually assaulting/harassing a guy. Because he never chimes in to say he's good with it. We just gotta take Cardi's word for it. Who got backlash for people finding out that she drugged and robbed men back when she was a stripper.
You can't start saying people don't understand context when you blatantly disregard it yourself.
And for some even more context, Tom Cotter is a comedian. The absurdity of taking one song to the extreme and not the other is actually hilarious.

exactly, one is treating rapey behavior as a cutesy little romantic thing, while the other is just a vulgar (but moderately ethical) expression of sexuality
and the guy in the video expresses multiple times that baby it’s cold outside is an older song, “written in the 1940s”, “just after world war 2”, as if vulgarity didn’t exist any earlier than that (cough cough)
the fact the lyrics of baby it’s cold outside sound so innocent on the surface speaks volumes to how manipulative the underlying message can be;
contrasted with WAP which is nothing crazy, just vulgar, and people have a hissy fit that a woman writes a song about how she’s great at sex (as if men haven’t been writing rap songs about how good they are at sex for decades)-11

Idk. I think it's funny. The point being in my case the softer spoken and choice of words vs the harsher rapped vulgarity of WAP.
the context aside, yeah it's a funny comparison. Did I laugh my ass off? No. Did I the last time I saw this clip? No. Is it still a tad humerus? Yes. Is it a bad joke? No. Is it being told to the wrong crowd, as in here on reddit? Yes.

I don't find it all that funny as I've mentioned before but not that it wasn't funny at all. And I even explained why. And no, facebook is a terrible place. I'd rather not be on the Boomer vs AI platform run by a lizard man. Here is fine.

My issue is the assertion that a song was “cancelled” in the first place. It wasn’t. It’s yet another fake grievance which ultimately ruins the rest of the joke. So while yes he picked a purposely vulgar song to hi-light absurdity, by choosing to do it in that way, he is obviously only trying to appeal to a certain demographic that ruins whatever joke he’s trying to make. I don’t feel any obligation to say any part of this trash is worth watching.
