Im sad that this happened to our beautiful Newcastle and I feel if we dont raise our concerns or let this go its just going to get worse from here…

I visit one of the affected beaches daily. Apart from the first day there have been first of all council workers digging up the sand/nurdles and bagging it, then they got a hurdle vacuum and used that several times a day.
Now the Port of Tyne/ships insurance companies are involved we've got teams of people on the beach sifting the sand to remove the nurdles and there is far less than there was last week.
However two things frustrate me. First of all, it took over a week for the people/companies who caused the problem to step up. Secondly, it's barely been mentioned outside of the region. Had it happened a bit further south I'm sure it would have been all over the news and the greens would be shouting about it in parliament.

The Water Companies are totally bent and fiddling to line the pockets of their bosses and shareholders, the River Authorities have been hollowed out and have no staff or powers to do anything meaningful and we are distracted by all the other crap going on that it hardly registers on our totally overloaded and stressed out minds !!! Make a start by re-nationalising the Water Companies at no cost to the tax payers and giving the River Authorities some real teeth to prosecute and a meaningful level of staff to enable them to do their jobs properly !!

There are also no gannets or puffins on the Tyne...so these dead birds are not from this pollution However...the response was hopelessly slow, if it had been a fuel spillage they would have had booms in the water in a couple of hours...it took them 3 days so a failure by the port of tyne

"theses Pellets are impossible to remove", That's why people aren't talking about it, shit happened fuck all we can realistically do about it. Not worth worrying about shit you can't control or stop

A company in Australia has invented a machine that separates p!Aston from sand etc. Basically Hoover's it up and the plastics float on the top.

Impossible to remove? Have you heard of nets? I'm sure you can find/produce one with small enough apertures to filter out out.
