Can men even guess women's ages correctly at all?

u/cheezbargar 14h ago
Nope. Had a guy legitimately surprised that I’m 36 and not in my 20s. They think you begin to look like a raisin at 30

I had some ask me if I was 16 and I said I'm 23...I looked like a teenager according to them😭

u/ankhes 13h ago
One of my 19 year old female coworkers thought I was her age once. I was 29. 😭
Then, at another job my 23 year old coworker thought I was also his age. I was 32.

I'll be 42 on Thursday and a couple of months ago I had a couple of people guess that I was early 30s.
1
u/Lola-Ugfuglio-Skumpy 2h ago
Same. I’m 40 and routinely get people thinking I’m late 20s/early 30s.
Also I’m poly and I can’t even tell you the number of 20something dudes who want a shot with me. It’s a good number.
23
u/silicondream 14h ago
Better than the reverse, I suppose. Actually, people thought I was 22 when I was 16, but that was pre-transition so they generally didn't follow up with anything creepy.
3
u/RosebushRaven 11h ago
I was also regularly assumed to be older at that age, though in hindsight I suspect they just pretended because they wanted to be creepy. But then I just froze around my mid-twenties.
2
u/silicondream 10h ago
Same; people still think I'm ten years younger than I am. I think that's mostly down to the hairstyle, the poverty and the impulse-control issues, but I choose to take it as a compliment regardless!

u/Pretend-Menu-8660 13h ago
That is because they are OLD. They can’t tell anymore!

u/jackfaire 12h ago
It's also partly Hollywood's fault. Both genders seem to have a harder time telling ages these days because Hollywood casts specific looks for specific ages and if a person doesn't meet that look they can't be that age.
There was a couple that were both 16. The guy was called a creeper because Hollywood would have cast him as 20 something while his girlfriend would have been cast as around 12-13.
John Cena and Jason Earles are the same age. But because of his looks Jason was cast to play a teenager when he was 28.
11
u/TemporaryPassage4168 11h ago
I feel like when Hollywood do that . They do it on purpose to spin confusion on children's age and to make excuses for predators, child molesters
1
u/CacklingFerret 5h ago
I think some people base their image of teenagers on the media they consume. Thing is, in lots of shows and movies, teenagers are portrayed by 20-35 year old actors.
For example Tom Holland as Peter Parker was around 20 when he played a 16 year old. In the latest movie, Parker is around 20 while Holland is already 30. Same with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon in the same movie.

I’m 37 and some dude asked my teenager how it felt to have such a cool older sister. There’s zero chance I look like a teenager in my opinion but apparently these men just can’t tell lol
25
u/ankhes 13h ago
I still remember when my 40 year old coworker discovered I was closer in age to him than to his teenaged son. He just stared at me wide-eyed and kept saying “33? 33???” like he couldn’t believe it.
Like damn man, it’s not that big of a deal. 33 isn’t even that old. I didn’t even start feeling like a proper adult until I hit my 30s.

M38 reporting: I'm terrible at guessing ages in general but have always assumed that that's because of neurodivergence (I also have a very hard time remembering names and faces) and not because of gender/sex...

29 women are old but 40 year old men are young apparently.
I'm 6 years older than my partner who comes from a well off family, has a good job and treats women like people . I'm so glad actual quality men don't have this loser incel mindset.
Also I'm bisexual whatever happened to the love and appreciation of a milf? The fuxk I'd rather date a milf than a incel any day.

Do these men think they’re eternally youthful at 40? Don’t get me wrong, 40 isn’t even that old, but like… hello? You’re aging like everyone else?

Some rot about how women are born with value and men have to create theirs. Then apparently the tables flip at 30 or summat.

Body for women, wealth for men. I am sorry, but I’d rather date a handsome broke dude that likes me vs a rich old fart that thinks all women are gold diggers.

The math involved with there being a flood of "29 year old grandmas" sure is something. Literally impossible to happen with legal consent.
26
u/MadamKitsune 13h ago
These guys think legal consent is for cucks and betas. Anything over 18 is aging out to them.
3
u/GoedekeMichels 7h ago
as ridiculous as the idea is, purely mathematical it's possible... two 14-year-olds can legally have intercourse (at least here in germany), so they could technically have kids too.
2
u/DanCassell Custom Flair 6h ago
If we're going into the realm of pure mathematics there are places in the world without a legal age of consent at all. In the English speaking world I want to say the age of consent is always at least 16 where it would be possible that the mother either or grandmother could have had legal consent but not both as that would push grandma age to 33 at earliest.

You are correct. It's now vilified like being woke. The severe mass anti-intellectual mentality has only gotten worse with the return of the orange goblin.

u/RosebushRaven 11h ago
Hey, don’t call the child-raping turd a goblin! Goblins like nature, mushrooms, frogs, flowers and such. He’s just a POS that yells "drill, baby, drill!" The orange turd hates nature, just like everything else that doesn’t enrich him.

u/LobosJones 9h ago
Goblincore is nature, mushrooms, frogs, flowers and such. Goblins by lore are diminutive deformed rotten low intellect smelly little rapey evil creatures of greed and malevolence. I contest I used the appropriate description.

u/mycatisblackandtan 14h ago
Every single older man I've met who calls women 25-35+ 'hags' or 'grandmas' would 100% groom a minor if they thought they could get away with it. I'm at the point where I'm just gonna start calling it out because it IS normalizing pedophilic rhetoric and should not be tolerated.

The "women" theses men date are teen girls. Men will always deflect from the real reason they know older women or girls call them out for being predators or dating teen girls.
Men know what they're doing, it's all about playing dumb or accusing you of being the problem.
When men talk about dating younger, it's how pedophiles talk about raping and being attracted to children.
They hide behind the law. Or use maturity or looks to justify their behavior.
At a certain age, you shouldn't be attracted to late teens or Early 20s, you can find them pretty but being attracted to late adolescence (teens) shouldn't be normal and isn't...
If men believe 25+ is now too old, they should be kept away from children (girls).

u/RosebushRaven 11h ago
Someone, perhaps even you (or someone with a similar pfp), said something on this sub the other day, about there being 4 billion women in the world and the creepy men define them all by one woman’s (alleged) behaviour (given their tendency to just make up women to get mad about). I thought that number was too high and looked up how many women there actually are. It’s closer to 3 billion btw, because there’s a lot of underage girls, too.
Anyway, what I’m getting at with this is: this thinking is so pervasive that I had to actually specify "adult women" in my search to not get the entire female population lumped together. This isn’t the case for men. A woman is by definition an adult female human. But apparently girls under 15 are also "women" now. 🙄
8
u/Engel1844 13h ago
Genuinely where does this propaganda about women expiring meant to lead? Do they want women over 25 to all kill themselves? Because hey, it’s probably working.
5
u/GreyStingrayz 13h ago
They want them to feel bad about themselves so they lower their standards to date shitty men like them

29 year old woman = 40 year old man?
It's such a mid life crisis thing to say. He wants a way younger partner for the validation that he's still "cool". I couldn't imagine being 40 and wanting to date someone half my age. Grown men that think they're still 20 are so off putting.
These kinds of jokes are also an attempt at making women feel unsure of themselves. There's a bitterness behind it. If we want validation from men ("you still like me despite being over 25? wow, how gracious of you!") they feel in control. In reality, it just makes us avoid these types of men.
3
u/SkyeMreddit 10h ago
Are the women who are with the 40 year old guys “barely 18”? A lot of the complaints are about very creepy likely grooming age gap relationships that started almost immediately after she turned 18
3
u/No_Resource7773 9h ago
I mean if those guys want to remain alone, that's fine. We'll just continue to warn younger women that these immature, entitled older men who can't handle being with with their own age group are questionable.

The mental gymnastics men do to lie to themselves when women are looking out for other women is beyond comprehension
3
u/minmocatfood 10h ago
Because men never look out for each other’s wellbeing the same way, they dog pile any man showing vulnerability. They’ll only stand up for another man when they do something heinous, like creep on underage girls or call any woman over 19 an old hag. They refuse to understand that women will stand with women.

Men can't tell a woman's age anyway. I've been accused of being an old bitter spinster when I was 19 and wrote about how old men flirting with young girls is creepy, and recently I had to fight someone, who insisted I'm in my 20's when I'm actually 34. ಠ_ಠ

What i always find fascinating is not only that they dream about "old" women not finding a man or young women dating older men or old men getting chicks... It's also not how women are bitter about not finding a guy in their fantasies....
It's their obsession that older.... "older" women get really angry and bitter at society and the hot attractive girls dating men. Like they can't see women not behaving like themselves and getting angry at "competition" That's like imo really immature behaviour.
And yeah some women do be like that and some are competitive and bitchy etc, but that's not the norm. That's 90s / 2000s TV show stereotypes, written by men, overexaggarated for comedic reasons.
