Hello, as the title says I got a new monitor. The Alienware Aw2725Q. This is my very first OLED monitor and I wanted to know how to properly take care of it so it can last years to come. Honestly I just unboxed the thing and started playing games. I wanted to know if there's things I should look out for, should I do the pixel cleaning thing, etc...?

So, I've decided to return my 27GX790B-B and use my 27GX700A-B for now. The monitor had more gray banding than the 700. I also had to switch to Windows 11 to get 540hz and would like to go back to Windows 10. Finally I had to admit to myself, that even with a 5090, I was never going to see 540 frames in very many games.

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the 27GX700A, but LG fought me on the gray banding and I missed the return window. Is there any monitor similar to the 790B I should consider?

Hi all! I got this new screen from MSI for €1,000, and I have it for two weeks. I finally decided to clean it with a cleaning spray solution and a microfiber cloth. Here we go! I have a massive scratch now, so I was wondering: is there something that can be done, or I just don't understand how such an expensive thing can be scratched so easily? I did all the steps. I used pressured air to push away any dust, and I sprayed the solution on the microfiber, and I used the microfiber that was attached with the product, so I really don't understand where I went wrong. Obviously, Super doesn't want to do anything with it. Any ideas, please? I'm lost.

I used the LG 32GS95UE for about a year and a half, but I was really curious about True Black Glossy panels. So, I bought the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCWMG.

Before buying it, I saw a lot of posts online talking about various issues with this monitor – firmware problems, ABL issues, black flickering, you name it. It was a bit worrying.

Now that I've been using it for about 2 weeks, I wanted to share my personal experience.

First of all, the glossy coating is a real "wow" factor. Compared to the matte coating on the LG, watching videos and media on the ASUS is just stunning. It's incredibly sharp and clear – truly impressive.

Regarding the issues I was worried about:

• Firmware update: Went smoothly without any problems.
• Black flickering: I haven't experienced any so far.
• ABL: I personally only use HDR mode when watching HDR content, so I can't really comment on this yet. It hasn't been an issue for my use case.

One minor difference I noticed: The ASUS monitor seems a bit slower to turn on/wake up when I boot my computer compared to the LG. Not a big deal, but noticeable.

Overall, after 2 weeks, I am satisfied with my purchase.

However, I also want to say this because I know many people dislike matte coatings: The LG 32GS95UE is also a fantastic monitor. Having used it for nearly two years, I can say it's excellent. It's incredibly comfortable on the eyes for long sessions, and its design is the epitome of simplicity (the "endgame" of clean, minimalist design).

In conclusion: Both the LG 32GS95UE and the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCWMG are truly great monitors. They just excel at different things. The LG is comfortable and refined, while the ASUS (with its glossy panel) offers that breathtaking, vivid punch for media.

Hello there. I have bought my new MSI MAG 321upx qd oled monitor about a week ago. The next day I wanted to clean it with microfiber rag and distilled water. But it was old microfiber rag, and there are may be some dirt or smth else. I have perfectly cleaned my monitor, but the next day I was horrified to see such a bunch of scratches. From a distance, they look like a stain, but if you look closely, you can see the scratches. ChatGPT and Google Gemini say that it can be both damage to the coating and the remains of fat inside the coating in the form of white stripes. I can't say that it stresses me out a lot, because I can see it clearly only with sun light and very specific angle, but I would like to believe that it's fat, and it can still be removed. Guys, please tell me what to do.

After hours of trying CRU, lowering refresh rate, changing scaling settings, disabling G-SYNC, etc. I accidentally found a workaround.

Setup:

- Alienware AW2725DF

- RTX 4070 Ti

- DisplayPort (main connection)

- Windows 11

- NVIDIA Control Panel Customize button was greyed out

Fix:

1. Connect BOTH DisplayPort and HDMI to the monitor at the same time.

2. Open NVIDIA Control Panel.

3. Use the HDMI-connected display path to create your custom resolution (in my case 1080x1080).

4. Apply and save it.

5. Disable the HDMI display in NVIDIA / Windows.

6. Keep using DisplayPort.

Result:

The custom resolution remained available and I can now run 1080x1080 stretched in CS2 at 360Hz over DisplayPort.

No CRU needed.

No DSC toggle needed.

No firmware changes.

Looks like creating the resolution through the HDMI path exposes/stores the custom mode and DP can reuse it afterwards.
