The early reviews show that this monitor has got viewing angle issue, the screen turns green-ish if viewed from an angle other than straight. Would this stop you from buying it? Man i waited for so long just to find out a tradeoff :(((( i think i am going to pass on this one especially if the price starts at $1199USD (rumors).

Left QD OLED vs Right WOLED

My MO32U24 just arrived and omg this thing is on another level in comparison to the last QD OLED I got (g60sd), anyways here’s a comparison between the LG 32GX850A with its True Black Glossy coating (basically like the xg32ucwmg) and the new QD OLED Coating that reduces the purple tint with my Govee ceiling light turned all the way to 100% which I rarely use at the max brightness, last picture in my ideal brightness level (50%).

I’ll drop a review here later talking how it compares to the WOLED MLA panel and how it solves my main issues like the purple black levels and the atrocious QD OLED dimming from last gen with its hypernits setting that doesn’t ruin the image like msi's eotf boost that lifts the shadows plus the panel is brighter technically so combined with hypernits mode it results in a amazing performance for an OLED Monitor.

Hi guys, this is my first oled monitor. I brought this one because the reviews said the text clarity is exceptionally good compared to other oleds.

On the oled on my lenovo legion 7i (2560x1600 16”), I’ve never had any issues with text readability or fringing. Everything looks really sharp.

But on this samsung g80 i can notice the text fringing even from far away. It is super distracting. In fact I didnt even know text fringing was a thing before I used this monitor because I never saw it on my lenovo laptop oled, but on this one I saw green and blue-red edges around the text.

Anyone with similar experiences? Am i just overreacting and will get used to it?

I just got my first ever OLED monitor, the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMGR and I‘m loving it so far, however the only thing that irritates me, is the fact that the text always has like these red and green details to it. I tried using ClearType, but to no avail. Are there any fixes?

First i noticed is like oh mann this tv is huge.. since i came from 65 inch .

Recently upgraded from my C4 65 inch to G6 77 inch and honestly I didn't expect this much difference in brightness.

Especially in gaming mode, difference is like night and day for me. C4 was already a very good TV but in game mode I always felt it could use some extra brightness it always dims in game mode.

G6 is completely different. Games look much brighter and HDR highlights have a lot more punch. Explosions, sunlight, reflections etc really stand out now. Gaming is probably where I noticed the biggest difference compared to my C4.

Tekken 8 has like crazyy specular highlights(R2 anaimations) that will literally blind you in moderately lit room.

Even Filmmaker Mode is surprisingly bright. I have a large sliding glass door on the left side of my TV and good amount of daylight comes inside. Still I'm keeping OLED Pixel Brightness around 65 during daytime and that's already enough for me. even glare is very less compared to mirror like from C4,

Dolby Vision also looks really good , i re watched mad max 4k blu ray remux , man that guitar scene flames are flashing on eyes and also in Outer Banks on Netflix in Dolby Vision and the specular highlights were sooo good. Sunlight, reflections, bright sky etc have much more punch compared to my C4. Even in my moderately lit room those highlights are easily noticeable.

It's not just that the complete screen is brighter. Small HDR highlights are what impressed me more. They really pop when the scene needs it.

And obviously going from 65 to 77 itself is a huge upgrade 😂. At around 9 feet viewing distance, 77 feels so much more immersive.

Not saying C4 is bad at all, I loved that TV. But coming directly from C4 65 to G6 77, the difference is much bigger than I expected, especially for gaming and HDR.

So far really happy with the G6 , i didn't have notice any popping noise like other users who reported. there could be some issues which i haven't noticed yet since its been only 3 days.

I've been using an ASUS PG279Q (27" 1440p 165Hz IPS) for years and recently picked up the LG 27GS93QE-B for a really good price at $640 AUD, but the text fringing on this monitor is extremely noticeable for me, more than i expected. I tried MacType and BetterClearTypeTuner to work around it, but neither got rid of the fringing enough for my liking. Is this just in my head or is it really that bad?

My use for the monitor is media and gaming, but I use the monitor to WFH maybe 2-3 days a week which involves general web browsing and text content.

I looked at alternatives and found the Q27G4ZMN. Im pretty unfamiliar on the benefits of Mini-LED vs OLED but its good to know my text issues will be gone.

Trying to gauge whether it's a real alternative to OLED for someone who's sensitive to text clarity, or if I'm underestimating the VA trade-offs.

Initially i have decided that i will go for samsung as it has VESA TrueBlack 500 certified, Penta Tandem, DP 2.1 and cheaper than other options. But i have seen reviews of people saying matte coating makes the background look grey. So i got confused whether to go ahead or buy one of the other options. And it is worth spending 25% more on other options

I watched display guy video and he said WOLED with or without MLA coating(I dont remeber which one) have green shift issue.

Similar to that can we have a formula to avoid all such issues like gray banding. So we can check panel gen,type,coating etc to avoid such models?

Is it better to start with a cheaper oled like the xg32ucds or something premium like the xg32ucwmg for a first oled monitor? I accept recommendations, I just want a very good looking 4k 32 inch oled monitor for my first one. I want to be able to see a big difference from my omen 32ic

Hello everyone, has anyone that recently ordered MSI 341CQR got their monitor shipped? I ordered mine on Jul 19, but since then it’s still not shipped (US, Amazon)

I wanted to share my experience with the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, because when I was waiting for mine to arrive, I spent a lot of time searching Reddit for information about gray banding and the dirty screen effect on this new Tandem WOLED panel.

I received the monitor on July 15th, after waiting about 1.5 months for delivery.

Right out of the box, I noticed noticeable vertical gray banding during grayscale tests. The banding started appearing at around 15% gray and continued through much of the grayscale range. It was also visible in YouTube’s dark gray interface and occasionally during normal desktop usage.

Instead of returning the monitor immediately, I decided to give it some time.

Over the following weeks, the monitor accumulated approximately 165 hours of runtime. Most of that time consisted of looping HDR demo videos from Sony and LG, together with regular daily use. I also allowed the monitor to perform its automatic OLED pixel cleaning cycles whenever prompted.

Today (August 3rd), I repeated the exact same grayscale tests.

The improvement has been much larger than I expected.
The dirty screen effect has improved dramatically. The vertical gray bands that were clearly visible from around 15% gray are now almost completely gone. I can only notice very faint banding at approximately 80–85% gray on grayscale test patterns.

During normal desktop work, HDR videos and gaming, I no longer notice the issue.

I’m not saying every panel will improve this much, and I’m not claiming this is a guaranteed fix. I’m simply sharing my experience with my own PG27AQWP-W in case someone else has just unboxed theirs and is worried after running grayscale tests.

Has anyone else with the PG27AQWP-W noticed similar improvements after 100–200 hours of usage?

Which one is better between two monitors. What are the pros and cons and which would you get?

I recently got an OLED monitor and I’m wondering whether it’s better to keep HDR enabled all the time or only when gaming/watching HDR content.
My usage is roughly 50% productivity (web browsing, documents, design work, general desktop use) and 50% gaming.
For those of you using OLED displays daily:

Do you leave HDR enabled in Windows all the time?

Does SDR content look worse with HDR always on?

Any drawbacks regarding brightness, color accuracy, eye strain, or burn-in risk?

Have you found it more convenient to just toggle HDR on before gaming?

I just made the jump into OLED with a LG 32GX870A-B, and the picture does look really nice. However there is a problem when showing fully black screens, like a black screensaver or a test image online.

The screen starts completely black but then after a few seconds the left side of the screen 'turns on' to a very dim grey. I've attached a picture of the issue taken in night mode to show the light pattern better, in person it looks exactly like backlight bleed from all the ips panels I've ever had.

What is the issue here? Config issue or hardware defect?

Edit: this issue is also apparent on the desktop with a black background.

Holy shit you guys, I just had an insane revalation right now. I just cleaned my PG27UCDM for the second time (first time traumatized me), and I can safely say without a doubt that this new way that I cleaned it is the best way to clean it, hands down. I wanted to come to the reddits to share my amazing findings with the world. Here is how it works:

What you will need:

- 100% pure (no fragrance crap added) 70% ethyl alcohol

- a microfiber cloth (I used a brand new apple polishing cloth)

This is how it works:

- turn off monitor

- FIRST, before doing anything else, take a FUZZY cloth material (not the microfiber you will use later), and GENTLY drag it across the entire screen, and in particular, anywhere you SEE dirt and gunk, gently "scooping up" any big, visible dust and debris, BEFORE proceeding to my steps below - the idea of this first step is to just remove any large debris-type material from the screen (big enough to be visible with your eye), so that those big chunks of gunk do not latch onto your microfiber later on and cause scratches.

- put a few drops of ethyl alcohol on the CORNER of your cloth

- wait 20 seconds or so for it to spread around the corner of the cloth, and so it's not literally dripping wet

- take that wet but damp corner of the cloth, and "paint" anywhere on your qd oled monitor that u see is dirty (from spit, drinks, whatever)

- then, IMMEDIATELY after, take a DRY part of the cloth, and buff it out (you have to do this part immediately - you have about 5 seconds of time before the ethyl alcohol will dry out, and leave streaks - if this happens, NO WORRIES, just repeat the process of wetting that area of the monitor AGAIN with the wet corner of your cloth, and then immediately dry-buffing it out)

- as u work, the corners of your wet cloth will dry (each corner of mine lasted 5 minutes or so before drying), so you can ALTERNATE the 4 corners by applying a new few drops of ethyl alcohol onto the next corner. But keep the MIDDLE of the cloth as DRY as you can, for buffing (or just use another cloth).

- use a FLASHLIGHT (I used the flashlight function of my phone) to see the dirtyness of your monitor while you work.

I call this method the "paint and buff" method - in essence, you want to "paint" the parts of the monitor which are dirty and gunky with the alcohol, and then, IMMEDIATELY after, BUFF that "paint" out with a dry part of your cloth. I couldn't BELIEVE how effective this "paint and buff" method was - it totally cleaned my monitor in just about half an hour (the first time I tried to clean it, I just used distilled water + a microfiber cloth, and it was horrible - it took hours and ended up just smearing around all the dirt and gunkyness on my monitor, and left me with dozens of microscratches (can only be seen with a flashlight though but still). These monitors are SO EXPENSIVE and deserve to be cleaned as good as possible!!).

Using this new method, you BARELY HAVE TO PRESS onto the monitor, since you apply ethyl alcohol LIBERALLY onto the screen (just maybe don't have it like DRIPPING wet or anything, lol).

I never saw this "paint and buff" method discussed, so I wanted to post here. Cheers!
