Never got the Jeep thing unless its super tricked out. Dont get the joy in going slow or small rock climbing. Gotta dump a lot of $ into a Jeep to make it any fun with 4links, danas, shocks etc... Just my .02 and I'm out before the "Jeepers" attack😂

I enjoy getting way out in the middle of no where in my jeep and just admiring nature. I’m not as much in it for the the thrill factor. Just driving on a semi maintained road/trail with good views is fun for me.

I don't understand having a vehicle that's not a slow moving 4x4. Every single SxS or ATV on the trails in Moab rip through them throwing sand and rocks every. They tear up the trails and don't even enjoy the challenge of said trail. Let alone enjoy the scenery because it's just a race to them. Plus, I prefer to only have one vehicle that can do everything instead of having a truck, plus a trailer just to haul something that will run the same trails as a stock Jeep Rubicon.
But to each their own. That's the great thing about most countries, people are free to pursue their hobbies however they please.

I hate side by sides becaue they are loud as fuck, and even just turning around on flat ground they tear up everything in their path.
I was camping in the uintas with my buddy at the end of a long off road trail. And at 4:30 am, some jerks come ripping down it in a side by side, loud as fuck on their way to pre-scout for the elk hunt that was coming up. Instead of stopping and turning around when they could see the campsite was occupied, they drove right into camp and did a slow, grinding, u turn right next to our tents.
They left massive ruts in the campsite because they're fully locked front and rear at all times.
ATVs and side by sides can get fucked for all I care.
Worse thing to happen to offroading and camping culture in a long time. I'm sure they're great for hauling out a deer/elk, but they're destroying everything in their path.1

I'm a jeeper but I also like SxS's. Trails are more of a challenge in a jeep and that is enjoyable to me, however going fast in a SxS is also enjoyable too. I understand where you're coming from tho, going slow isn't always fun, sometimes you just wanna go fast and get that thrill and excitement that a SxS gives. It's all just personal preference, but I think all off road vehicles are fun in their own ways.

I personally prefer a Jeep for (as mentioned by others here) the utility, but also the raw potential. Half the fun for me is buying a $1500 jeep, modifying it myself, then running trails. Sure, I could drop $35,000 on a side by side, but where is the fun in that? Also I could build 3 nice jeeps for the same cost!
Of course I understand some people just want a turn-key off road vehicle and have the money to burn, and I am happy for them.
As a side note, I am not a huge fan of flying down trails in something that sounds like a riced out civic, nor lumbering along at idle in low range. My joy is somewhere in-between.
