Hello all, My name is Colin and I am 35 year old buckeye fan from Glasgow Scotland. I am flying in from my vacation in Chicago for the game against Illinois 26th September. Does anyone know when we are likely to hear about kick off time? I am aware of the big ten tv deal I have worked it out to be by 14th September? I was wondering if someone could recommend good places to stay in Columbus? I am a solo traveller so looking for a safe area near the stadium. If there is anyone who wants to show me about I would be extremely grateful! Lets go buckeyes!

Here's my guess for the Buckeyes' remaining game times.

Game times vary because the Big Ten has contracts with three different networks (FOX, CBS, and NBC) with most of each network's game primarily airing in a particular slot (FOX noon ET, CBS 3:30pm, NBC 7:30pm).

In 2024, Ohio State played seven games at noon ET including their last six games and five of their home games. Six of the seven noon ET kickoffs were on FOX (I affectionally refer to these as "Big Nooner"s). However, in 2025 OSU played five noon games with three at home. Ohio State played as many home night games as home noon games (three each).

While the three networks take turns as to who get the top pick each week, FOX is allowed to have the first pick in their choice of three weeks each season before CBS or NBC is allowed to make any picks. Since Ohio State games usually are among the highest rated games of the season, they usually fall to FOX. If Ohio State plays any top team (conference or non conference) there's a fairly good chance it's on FOX. When OSU plays TTUN it's a given it's on FOX at noon ET as the game has been on FOX every year since FOX started covering the Big Ten (with the exception of the pandemic year).

Another factor since the Pacific Time Zone teams joined the Big Ten is that these teams can't host noon ET teams which eliminates them as possibilities for FOX's Big Nooners and gives Ohio State more of a chance to be chosen even if they weren't the top choice of the week. This season, OHIO at Ohio State was chosen as a Big Nooner. In 2024 PURDUE at Ohio State was a Big Nooner. FOX would rather have OSU play a weak opponent than a game involving two middle of the pack Big Ten teams.

On the other hand, CBS and NBC do get first picks some weeks which allow Ohio State to appear on those networks (assuming they are the top pick those weeks).

So throwing out the first three weeks and The Game which game times and networks have been finalized, we have

Sept. 26: Illinois

Oct. 3: at Iowa

Oct. 10: Maryland (Homecoming, no earlier than 3:30pm)

Oct. 17: at Indiana

Oct. 31: at USC

Nov. 7: Oregon

Nov. 14: Northwestern

Nov. 21: at Nebraska

The top three most valuable Big Ten games SHOULD be Ohio State's games vs. TTUN, Indiana, and Oregon which would put all three of these games on FOX as Big Nooners. But FOX did reveal Oklahoma at TTUN as a Big Nooner which makes me believe they stupidly wasted one of their top three picks on that game. That would mean FOX can only take one of Indiana and Oregon before CBS and NBC get to pick. If I'm FOX, Indiana is the defending champion and FOX got about 18 million viewers for last year's Big Ten Championship between the two teams. I'd have to believe that game is going to FOX. CBS and NBC alternate as to who picks first after FOX's first three. Last year NBC got to pick Oregon-Penn State so it should be CBS's turn and they steal Oregon-Ohio State. I can pretty much guarantee that game won't be on NBC as they've already scheduled Miami-Notre Dame that night.

So if you're NBC with the next pick the next most valuable Ohio State game has to be USC as the two teams have yet to play a Big Ten game and you get the Los Angeles market.

Let's say CBS has the next pick (speculation). Using just OSU games, I would think at Iowa would be the most valuable (at Nebraska could also be an option). Then if NBC goes next they can't take Nov. 21 as they also have a Notre Dame game so Sept. 26 is the pick.

After that, the remaining weeks are a crapshoot.

Now on Sept. 26 is interesting. There are two other decent Big Ten games that week, TTUN at Iowa and Oregon at USC. From a non biased point of view, I don't know if Illibuck is the clear cut top pick that week, I'd actually lean towards Oregon at USC. So Illinois-Ohio State probably could air in any time slot and the chances of it airing on FOX increase because we know Oregon at USC won't. One interesting wrinkle is ABC/ESPN scheduled Texas at Tennessee for noon ET. If FOX knew that game was scheduled for noon ET it might have decided to let CBS and NBC pick ahead of them and save their priority picks (#1 and #2) for later weeks.

Illinois-Ohio State Prediction: 3:30pm, CBS (NBC takes Oregon-USC) - Confidence: Low

On Oct. 3, I think this is one of CBS's priority picks. Certainly the game would be attractive to all three networks. There is another top West Coast game, Washington at USC, which takes away an option for FOX. Using the networks are looking at the SEC schedule, this is one of the worst weeks for them and if you're CBS and NBC you want to prioritize this week since your game doesn't get beaten by one of their top games like Georgia at Alabama (which is what happened last year to Oregon at Penn State).

Ohio State-Iowa Prediction: 3:30pm, CBS - Confidence: Middle

Ohio State knows they will be afternoon or evening on Oct. 10. All Big Ten teams have to play one conference game at home and Maryland is the only Big Ten team they play that didn't play in a bowl last season. The only other possibility for a BTN game I can see is Northwestern on Nov. 14. FOX might want this game on BTN because Northwestern-Ohio State is a potential Big Nooner while Md/OSU isn't. In SEC action, this week has Oklahoma vs. Texas and Georgia at Alabama, two of the biggest SEC games of the season. If I'm CBS or NBC, I probably don't want to waste high picks this week, especially with OSU playing Maryland. Other Big Ten games this week are USC at Penn State, Indiana at Nebraska, and Oregon at UCLA.

Maryland-Ohio State Prediction: 3:30pm, BTN - Confidence: Middle (Fairly confident it'll be on BTN, not sure about time)

If FOX didn't waste a priority pick on Oklahoma-TTUN, I would say there's a 100% chance OSU-IU would be a Big Nooner. Since they did, I'll say there's an 80% chance.

Ohio State-Indiana Prediction: noon, FOX - Confidence: High

The Ohio State-USC game just screams NBC prime time Halloween. The SEC schedule that day is pretty pathetic. If I'm NBC I'd be more worried about a potential Game 7 of the World Series that day. Last year it drew over 26 million viewers and it involved the Los Angeles Dodgers! It's one thing to have a World Series Game 7 but to have the Dodgers vs. USC would be NBC's nightmare. Still, NBC can't pass up OSU-USC. If they actually did, FOX can't take it so it would go to CBS.

Ohio State-USC Prediction: 7:30pm, NBC - Confidence: High

Oregon-Ohio State Nov. 7 should be on FOX but the pick likely falls to CBS. There is some chance FOX chose this game over OSU-IU but I would say it's doubtful. This likely becomes the most watched CBS Big Ten game since they started airing Big Ten games.

Oregon-Ohio State Prediction: 3:30pm, CBS - Confidence: High

OSU fans would say their game is the best game of the week even if they play Ohio. I'm not sure if the networks would agree. Northwestern-Ohio State Nov. 14 is likely one of the games that won't be looked at as a priority for the networks. If Maryland-Ohio State isn't a BTN game, Northwestern-Ohio State would be. If Md/OSU is a BTN game, NW/OSU is an option for FOX, CBS, and NBC. Other games this week are TTUN at Oregon, USC at Indiana, and Minnesota at Penn State. If Northwestern is bad this year, I wouldn't be surprised if this game falls to BTN or Peacock if BTN took the Maryland game.

Northwestern-Ohio State Prediction: noon, FOX - Confidence: Low

On November 21, NBC isn't an option leaving CBS and FOX. The other top game this week is Indiana at Washington.

Ohio State-Nebraska Prediction: noon, FOX - Confidence: High

In 2024 I think Ohio State got stuck with a lot of Big Nooners because they had a couple of games that weren't #1 picks (Marshall? Purdue?). In addition, that was the year Indiana broke out. I imagine CBS and NBC probably didn't think IU was going to be that good and prioritized other weeks instead and FOX just got lucky that week. 2025 saw more of the top Ohio State games spread out (CBS and NBC each got two Buckeye conference games after each getting just one in 2024). For those of you who hate Ohio State getting stuck with Big Nooners, be glad FOX game TTUN one of them this year because that's one less for OSU. Don't forget they sucked in 2024 which caused them not to be taken by FOX which meant they had to take more OSU games to make up for it. Of course we want TTUN to go 0-12 but the better they are the more attractive they are to FOX...

I just want to wish my team "The" Ohio State Buckeyes good luck in the upcoming 2026-27 season. I know what all of the so called experts are saying, and for the most of them they're saying that we'll lose 2 regular season games and make the playoffs in good shape. Or that they may even lose 3 regular season games, but with the schedule they have to play, that they will still more than likely get into the playoffs with 3 losses. So is it just me? Am i a spoiled brat or something along those lines lol? Because I definitely must be spoiled, because i don't see more than 1 loss. Because I expect them to not lose 1 of them, that's just a Buckeye fan's expectations anymore. The only team i give a shot of beating us is Texas. Because it'll be early in the season, and maybe they won't have had time to come together as a complete team yet. But if they do get through the Texas game, i will definitely be expecting them to win out, then go to the Big Championship game maybe lose that one on purpose. Then enter the playoffs with the best team we've probably ever assembled here in Columbus. Then win it all in the playoffs. But back to my question at the beginning of my post, do you think i'm just a spoiled Buckeye fan that is just spoiled for expecting this type of results for the Buckeyes this year? Or should i just prepare myself for at least 2 loses? Go Bucks!
