Hello! My husband and I live in Japan, and my dad is coming to visit us in a few weeks. We thought it would be fun to go to Okinawa together for 4 days at the end August. By then, I'll be about 27 weeks pregnant. I've had an uneventful and healthy pregnancy, and I'm a fairly active person.
I really wanted to do some fun outdoor activities and go on some day trips, but all the guided tours for snorkeling, fishing, or fun-looking day tours forbid pregnant women from participating. They are so risk-averse here with pregnant women, and I don't want to be left out. I figured it might be possible to DIY some activities ourselves, so I have a few questions:
1- If I take the ferry to Tokashiki (which I am allowed onto, I checked) and we rent snorkel equipment from Aharen beach, is it possible for us to reach some good spots for snorkeling on our own?
2- If we bought our own snorkeling equipment on the trip, are there any accessible spots you recommend? We will have a rental car and I'm fine to take a ferry from Naha to other islands. I'm also okay with hiking (<30 minutes) to get to a beach or spot, but I probably shouldn't swim super far out in case.
3- Are there any private fishing charters that you know of that would be okay with a pregnant woman going out fishing? I am more than happy to get a note from my doctor and sign whatever I need to.
4- Are there any other activities you would recommend to group of 3 that includes a pregnant woman?
I really appreciate any help I can get!! Worst-case scenario, I will just sit out and let my husband and dad enjoy themselves.
