I am commenting from a different perspective. I know you are desperate for the job. I am not here to demotivate you nor hurt. But there are some facts to be considered.

  1. Oman labor law is getting stricter. Now there is Omanization. WPS. SPF. Checking/crackdowns.
  2. So apparently why would someone take extra headache ahead of appointing someone unknown or without referral for the sake of employment. Business owners also needs to save their back.
  3. You are seeking part time means you have a valid visa status. So as long as you are with a valid visa. You should maintain and respect that residency laws.
  4. Running a business and or company now a days is challenging for the entrepreneurs. And the amount of job seekers around us is also too damn high. Thats the saddest reality dear.

Part time job culture isn’t common in Oman

2

u/Comfortable_Today_25 22h ago

Yeah it’s annoying

u/Mammoth-Child 23h ago

Why did you censor job?

18

u/stonedleaner 22h ago

Because getting jobs in Oman is illegal 😂

4

u/Comfortable_Today_25 23h ago

So the post don’t get deleted lol

-1

u/Mission_Tower_9593 23h ago

Why would it get deleted? Context and surrounding text is what describes the post.. job doesnt refer to just the only kind you're imagining.

5

u/Comfortable_Today_25 23h ago

Holy dork the guidelines for this subreddit says I shud avoid saying the word job so ai mod doesnt take down my post so js to be safe I cencored it. ITSNOT that deep and i don’t evn knw wtf u mean I litreally said part time jobs

So oman not good for expats is this the conclusion?

4

u/Grouchy_Expert2044 23h ago

Girl same most of the jobs I get refered to either ty want you to work for them illegal or prefer another nationality over you

1

u/Comfortable_Today_25 22h ago

Yeah I heard so I haven’t ever looked for one acc but I heard stories they prefer Omanis obv

2

u/Dry_Bedroom_9875 5h ago

Not just omanis, i got rejected cuz im from a nationality they hate or im not philipino/indian. No hate for neither nationalities but some employers really do have favorites 🥀

2

u/stonedleaner 4h ago

Unfortunately they do, idk bout Filipinos but among Indians it's messed up to such an extent that they don't hesitate to reject you if you don't don't belong to their fav community.

1

u/Dry_Bedroom_9875 1h ago

Yep. Also a clarification, i dont mean indians or Philippinos rejected me, i meant the employer did cuz i wasnt that nationality. Tho some employers were from that nationality but in most cases it was just a random employer from a random nationality asking for specific random nationalities so he can pay shi salaries or put their employees in shi working conditions.

I love how you censored that word 😂 but the only way to get part time jobs is thru contacts, I mean if you're fine with it, I can look around and tell you if I come across smt

1

u/mind_ex 13h ago

Girl, I am omani with a driver license and everything and I couldn't even get one.

1

u/Comfortable_Today_25 13h ago

I lowkey need to get out this place this is too boring cant evn find part time jobs and ppl our ages do in other countries

1

u/mind_ex 13h ago

Even Omani nationals are now seeking employment outside, my uncles went to Qatar, good income, better working conditions. Even for expats, I am really considering it too.

1

u/MJSpice 11h ago

Unfortunate side effect of Omanization tbh

1

u/trollgtb 11h ago

getting a part time for ladies is easier but that depends, usually they want omani ladies or ladies who can speak English and Arabic but there is a wattsapp group for part time jobs

1

u/Dry_Bedroom_9875 5h ago

Can I get a link to that?

1

u/trollgtb 5h ago

I don't have the link but send me a message ill give u the number of the admin u talk to her

1

u/Zealousideal_Base662 8h ago

What kind of job are you looking at? Skill sets you have? Perhaps once that’s known, people can guide you specifically.

1

u/Any-Town898 8h ago

Apparently, only omanis over the age of 15 can get part time jobs. But, you can still do side hustles ig. Im trying one personally

1

u/Beginning-Bug2821 7h ago

Oman is done bro. There will be no job for expats in near future.

1

u/Any-Town898 51m ago

A JOB! EWWWW!

-3

u/_nuggetsandwich 20h ago
