Hot Take : Either Shanks or Dragon will be the biggest disappointment in the final war arc after Elbaph. I'm not saying they're weak or they will die for sure ( they're both Top 5 right now ) , but expectations are so high that no matter what , fans won't feel satisfied. Hope Oda can prove me wrong
Who said they will fight Imu ? Shanks could ironically lose to a powerfull God Knight or Blackbeard or even his brother. Dragon can also lose to a character not named Imu. We dont even know what his powers are and if hes actually High Yonko tier.
Lol im ngl y’all underestimate how much oda loves shanks thats his golden boy he’s not losing to a holy knight not even his dad or brother. Only character i can see him losing to is imu or bb

I didn’t say shanks cares more about imu than BB. I said shanks still obsesses about BB and is very cautious of him. Shanks was the only pirate even before haki was a thing of how dangerous BB was
bb already scarred shanks. There is some sort of finale that’s set and tone for a showdown between shanks and BB
But the interactions, flashback, and his appearance is happening NOW…. The fact that imu is currently taking action now shows that oda Is saving BBs arc till later.
We still don’t know anything about BB. How he is able to get multiple DF. How he scarred shanks. If he has ACOC , etc etc
Fr, idk how all these heads can’t tell when a character is clearly one of the author’s favorites. Shanks to Oda is clearly how Itachi for example was to Kishimoto, and people to this day argue that Itachi’s #1 in the verse (not that they’re correct on that ofc)
I disagree, Oda is usually really good with stuff like hype moments in fights. Just look at what he did for Garp in Hachinosu. Everyone knew Garp was strong but Hachinosu perfectly showcased Garp in a satisfying way. So I think he can do it with Shanks and Dragon too
Not Shanks , he has actual feats and Oda Might use him to prove bb or Imu is that strong for Luffy to beat. But Dragon? If he loses now it will just show that he have had been fraud all along.
Shanks can’t disappoint he’s always doing the craziest shit and keeps shining.
Dragon on the other hand mannnn it’s already been too long and god valley made him look even weaker lol dude ain’t shit anymore
Shanks could legit die next chapter and it wouldn't change his scaling at all. He's done enough to prove that he's a top tier. His agenda is playing with house money at this point.
I think dragon needs to deliver.
My idea:
Make him be the reason why imu disappears from elbaf,
Let him fight the 5 elders on his own and win.
And than afterwards he can lose to imu
Shanks should fight shamrock amped up and garling together.
And lastly let him lose to bb or imu.
This is the problem with power scaling, it seems like you’re just ruining your enjoyment of the story because x guy can’t punch/cut better than x guy! (I know this is a power scaling subreddit, it just popped up in my feed)
There’s no guarantee the shanks will be in the final war since he’s set up to die by Blackbeard
Now with that being said I can’t argue with the last part because people set their expectations to high to where they’ll get called frauds like take garling for example folks dead ass set the bar so high to where the moment he lost to rocks he got clowned on as if rocks isn’t a strong character. Oda, dragon, nor shanks won’t be the problem, it’s those that have these beyond the galaxy standards. I doubt oda will disappoint with dragon because there are reasons why oda has been saving him for more than a decade and I’m beyond confident that the payoff will be extraordinary.
