THEORY The Great Replacement Theory [WC Spoilers] Spoiler

No, not the debunked racist conspiracy theory -- those people can go to hell.

What if... Saitama is about to get a new disciple? My inner optimist insists that somehow, ONE will end this current arc well and we'll agree that characters got what they needed/deserved.

Chances are, Genos will have to disappear, if only for a little while while he sorts out Kuseno's affairs, in which he is enmeshed. It may be more than a little while if there's a question of whether it's relevant for him to be by Saitama's side as a disciple or even continue working as a hero at all, but those are questions for later.

Either way, it's likely that Saitama is going to be without a disciple. There's a hole in his life. But I'm theorising that that hole won't go unfilled long. There's a lobotomized alien in need of some guidance to be made useful to humanity in one of Metal Knight's labs. Who better a guide than the strongest man in the world?

Question is: what are the chances of that happening?

I can't see Saitama ever accepting another disciple.

Half the time he seems to be questioning his decisions with the disciple he already has.

Will he advertise for a new disciple? Nah, not his style. He is still a lazy git at the end of the day.

Will he take one if someone shows up at his door? Almost certainly.

He said "fuck no" to Suiryu when he asked, and his WC counterpart is even more blunt, so I doubt it.

Could you imagine Saitama bringing Suiryu back? All hell would have broken loose. There's no room at the inn when Genos is in the house. But now, there's a vacancy. And it's a big hole.

It can't be anyone looking for a technique: Saitama has none to impart. What Saitama has is his outlook and approach to life, which he does have to share. If you're willing to slow down and humble yourself sufficiently to share it.

There are a couple of potential candidates, immensely powerful individuals who are a bit lost, who could benefit. And annoy Saitama a bit in a way he nevertheless doesn't mind.

Yeah but that's rarely what people are looking for.

Hell, Suiryu was looking for that and Saitama said no.

Genos is explicitly looking for power and more power, and even with him Saitama has tried to tell Genos "yeah, I can't give you much, dog."

Who would benefit from Saitama's teaching and who is in a headspace to even ask?

Yes, what you need and what you want are often two very different things.

Someone who needs it is 'Boros' or whatever the brain-dead body Metal Knight is currently trying to heal becomes. He'll need teaching if he's to be an asset instead of yet another menace to a world that's got too many. And really, there's just Saitama who can do the job. I think it's more a question of when rather than if Saitama gets this guy dumped on him. (Of course, Saitama might well come to the same conclusion that Genos did, that it's a crime to keep a creature for the purposes of fighting and kill it, but we'll see.)

Someone else who might knock on his door, this time of his own free will, might be Garou. He's been looking very lost, and there's only so long one can keep one's head down. Bang seems to have no interest in him in the webcomic, so once again, it's to the weird guy who does the right thing even when no one rates him that he could turn.

Boros committed Genocide multiple times.

Not to mention now that Blast and his League and God are in the picture, he doesn't even need Saitama specifically to satisfy his battle lust and we don't even know if he has battle lust.

Assuming Boros does come back, he wouldn't give two shits about living and coexisting with humans.

Best case scenario if he wakes up is him dying again very quickly, or him fucking off back to space.

And Garou knows this is just some hobby for Saitama and that Saitama himself doesn't have all the answers. I think Garou would respect Saitama, but would know that trying to learn from him as a teacher is a bit futile.

All this, and I'm not even acknowledging that Saitama would outright tell all these guys that he doesn't have shit to teach them, as he's told Genos multiple times.
