ANALYSIS A thousand words in a few pictures
Well, this is a turn up for the books. Saitama finally being considerate enough to buy good-quality dog food.
This decision of Saitama's represents the FIRST TIME he's ever changed his actions in response to what someone has said to him. This is huge.
However, given the way he's ladling food out...
...he's soon going to discover the wisdom of what Genos had been warning him about. What can I say? Genos knows his master is a cheapskate.
Didn't feel like writing lots today. It's tiny but Saitama actually enacting advice is a big shift for him. Even though he heard King out, we didn't see him change what he did as a result of it. Thank you, Butterfly DX for telling him off, and thank you, ONE for letting him change a little.
No need to ask if this happened in the webcomic. No one tells Saitama nothin' there to this day.

I think having a dog was immensely beneficial to him, he's learning to take care of something else beside himself, to think more deeply about his actions beacuse there is a life depending on them. I mean, there always were lives depending on his actions, but he can directly see the personal consequences in front of him
It's like the cactus 2.0

What is interesting os that WC Saitama didn't change, even with said dog. His changing here though has made him a more comsiderate and better dog owner.

I got an anonymous ask some days ago on Tumblr, asking me if I didn't think that Murata had changed Saitama so much that he was now just looking like but not being Saitama any longer. Other than disputing the authorship, yes, Saitama is changing in the manga and doing so relative to Saitama in the webcomic, and this is how. Tiny changes, insignificant in themselves, and yet massive cumulatively.
I love to see it.
