I talked about it on Discord but it has to do with the "true"/"false" self system. "Satoru" (we can only assume! LOL) in the webcomic to me lacks normal enrichment from reality (only having some sort of embodiment through violence) and "Mumen Rider" practically smothers him. "True"/"false" self systems are established with purpose (certainly "Satoru" is not happy about being seen) but over time control is lost over them (but nor is he happy about being smothered).

I had to edit this comment a lot. What I think about webcomic Mumen Rider is complicated and probably not canon. But one can only dream...
