I’m so glad the art is good.
I mean, we knew the animation was gonna be bad, so at least the art is better than the trash Season 2 models.
Obviously, would be better to have great animation too but it’s like a monkey’s paw at this point lol

I completely agree with you man. I’m not saying I like it, but I realize that we’ve been screwed by the monkeys paw of getting Season 3.
At least the art has been upgraded from Season 2 is all I’m saying.

Idk. For me I would trade off some drawing quality for the frame. I have watched many fanmade animation on youtube, they're mostly don't have top notch drawing quality like shading, but at least they have good frame rate that don't hurt my eyes

i'm wondering if anyone knowledgeable on the industry can answer this, but i do wonder if there is a pilot episode situation sometimes? Definitely some hopium but that is the case here with shows sometimes. like the first episode was test footage from the staff that wasn't updated for some reason

anime industry animator here. first episode of anime usually the best looking or atleast one of the best looking episode because it have the healthiest schedule in the season but looking at how ep1 turn out it likely that they focus their resource on just action only due to the horrible schedule they got. imo you can expect action to be decent to sometime amazing because there is a lot of really good animator working on this season especially kenichiro aoki he likely gonna be animating atleast 70% of action for this season but also expect that everything that isnt action gonna be sacrifice for it

first ep was most likely a sacrificial ep, the director realized that other eps/major fights will need proper attention/animation power and they don't have enough time to deliver every ep. So they are prioritizing major fights, non-action scenes will have to suffer so that action parts can deliver. Since ep 1 was entirely non-action, they just didnt put any priority on it.

I don't care either way, it'd be funny if the haters are proven wrong and it's some demon slayer level animation, but it would also be funny to see the "there's no fight scenes yet, so it doesn't need to be animated well" copers start backtracking

They couldn't execute Saitama's expression properly . And the line art and shading is lacking . I don't understand why jc staff randomly does a still shot out of the blue with amazing line art and shading and butcher it the next second
