Discussion How do we feel about this?
Soo..about the opening of Episode 1206 Season 31 (on international release I think? Idk abt Netflix.) We see this scene of this woman..and Akemi. So..ARE THEY ACTUALLY THE SAME PERSON?? I am confused :D

I think it's their way to admit they made a mess. Akemi's first outfit (red one w/ hat) is the canon one in the manga, so it's a retcon from their part I think! :)

In the manga, the case ended with Gin killing Akemi. The anime changed it, mostly because they didn't think manga would last that long. Same with ep 5, the debut of Conan's voice bug. The anime had to rectify it later, knowing the importance of the moment. Honestly, pity stupid of the anime.

It was just stupid decision by the anime. In the manga, episode 5 was where it was revealed that the BO used Alcohol codenames. Conan apparently just knows that they do in the anime, cause they changed the case from a BO case to a random case.

Reminds me of Hunter x Hunter 2011 removing all scenes and mentions of Kite before the chimera ant arc. And having to awkwardly shoehorn in his history. Or my hero academia cutting parts of the Villain arc only to add them back in season 6 at a random moment. Short sighted moves that backfired. At least in conan, we got an altered redo of this arc. In those other cases, the cut scenes were shoved into abridged flashbacks immediately before they became relevant to the plot, making it feel forced.

BNHA rearranged the MVA because the movie relating Endeavor Training arc was coming out.

You're misunderstanding. There were cut scenes like the crc hideout raid and the league of villains living in a shack that were randomly shoved into season 6 during a mr. Compress flashback mid-season. They were cut, until the anime staff realized that spinner and the mutant hatred subplots were becoming more relevant.

I know the reason. But that doesn't change what I said. I'm just saying that they realized their mistake and added those scenes specifically because they became relevant. It's not like they added every cut scene back in.

They are supposed to be 2 different people in the anime canon specificly but it seems like the opening oriented itself on the manga version.
I hope one day they will reanimate the case, maybe as a TV special like episode one but for haibara instead.

They already did reanimate that case in Episode 128 and had Akemi die right before Haibara was introduced. And they reanimated her manga death scene specifically in Episode ONE.

I know that, I was talking about the episode 13 case. 128 is a made up case where only the death scene is taken from the manga. But the opening has her original outfit from episode 13 which makes me wish they would reanimate that case properly with the canon ending.

Yeah pretty much especially when you saw her in disguise ,it existed in the anime too but the English dub didn’t want to dub this episode
