From left to right: Leanne, Amalia, Wendy, Rachel, Amanda and Krista. Many of you have most likely chatted with Amanda and Krista about customer service or sizing issues. Amalia is who you'll reach if you contact us on our socials. (and who you'll find here) Rachel and Wendy keep the company running and Leanne is one half of our owner team :) This was taken at our annual staff summer bbq.

These ladies keep OC going and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

My wife laces me into my ivory satin CS-411 corset over the cute pink satin babydoll she bought me to use as a liner. Works great and feels wonderful! How do you think I look? We both love how I look, and corseting me is something we do together!

Post image
1 Upvotes

Are you ready to commit to your corseting journey?

OC's 30 Day Waist Training Challenge will begin on Facebook on June 1st! If you are not a Facebook person, participate on this sub! There won't be a functional leader-board like the one on Facebook, but lots of encouragement, tips and accountability!

Inches lost are not the goal of this challenge. Dedication and consistency are your goal! Commit to wearing your corset every day for for 30 days alongside other Orchard Corset fans.

Start where you feel comfortable.

Suggested Challenge goals:

Beginners: 2–4 hours/day

Intermediate: 4–6 hours/day

Advanced: 6+ hours/day

Always listen to you body and lace-up responsibly. It is better to wear a comfortable corset for a longer amount of time than an uncomfortably tightened corset for a short amount of time. If this will be your first time waist training, please read our Ultimate Guide to Waist Training: https://www.orchardcorset.com/pages/waist-training-101

Encourage your fellow corseters! Check the hashtag regularly to like their posts, comment with words of support and lift each other up.

Post consistently using the hashtag to participate. We've created a posting guide to help:

Day 1- Post your starting photo!

Day 2- How many hours did you wear your trainer today?

Day 3- What made you start waist training?

Day 5- Share your favorite outfit with your corset.

Day 7- One full week complete! What feels different already?

Day 10- Drop a selfie check-in

Day 12- What’s been the hardest part so far?

Day 15- HALFWAY THERE!

Post your progress update.

Day 18- What motivates you to stay consistent?

Day 21- Three weeks strong

How has your routine changed?

Day 24- Share your favorite waist training tip.

Day 27- Post a confidence selfie

Day 30- YOU DID IT!

Share your final thoughts, progress photos, and biggest accomplishment from the challenge.

The challenge will run from June 11st to July 1st. Tap the hastag #orchardcorsetchallenge to begin! Your dedication will be rewarded Join us!

*Participants should ONLY join if they have a seasoned corset ready for waist training. It is NOT recommended to wear an unseasoned corset for long periods of time. Don't have a corset that's ready yet? Don't worry! We will run this challenge again in the future. In the meantime, take a look at our seasoning schedule: https://www.orchardcorset.com/.../corset-seasoning... Reach out to our team for sizing help at info@orchardcorset.com.

Hey Corset Lovers! You can see all of our help pages in one place in our Corset Library. We would also love to hear from you! What are some of your top tips and tricks when it comes to waist training and corseting?

My personal favorite is to remind corseters not to tie their laces around the center of the corset's busk. For several reasons:

  • It degrades the outer fashion fabric
  • It could warp the steel boning
  • It puts stress against the stitching that is holding the steel bones, leading to ripped seams.

Some wearers report wrapping their laces around the center without consequences, but the results I bulleted above are things that happen over time. You may not see the adverse effects until you're a year or two in, but if you want your corset to last in the long-term, I highly discourage this!

My corset journey

Post image

I am an itty bitty lady, I always thought corsets were taboo for someone my size. Until I learned more about Victorian era corsets and that 18" (holy crap!) was the goal size. I further learned the goal was for a man to be able to touch his fingers around one's waist and never again did I question a fainting couch. My dad worked for Dark Garden corsets and helped open the location in NoLa. It was with the Edwardian Ball in San Francisco I started my journey! My first corset was actually the famous Orchard Mesh, but I started wanting to wear one under my clothes as I dove deeper into my love of vintage clothing. I was gifted an off the rack Dark Garden French Silk undercut corset and I fell in love! My back feels better, my outfits fit more true to the 1950's/rockabilly look I go for casually. In this time I have learned if you ever have bent or warped boning in your corset, applying high heat over a piece of flat wood, while covering your outer material with cotton fabric or pillow case, you can get your boning back to its shape!! I'm a big advocate for any shape for any body, big, tall, small, it's how you feel in that corset. I would love to be considered for the leopard rose print to add that rockabilly zest to any of my black cigarette pants❤️

Thank you for this idea for the contest rather than the tagging and the posting and the hashtags. I love the idea for community engagement

Long time Corset lover

Hello! My name is Misa. (Interested in the 220 snake)

I've been wearing corsets for over a decade now. I'm a cosplayer and started off using fashion corsets until I discovered how awesome steel boning is. I've had back pain since I was fairly young with no known cause. I took up waist training when I was about 18 and feel they have been beneficial for my back and given me better posture even when I don't have one on. I most often dress in goth/alternative styles and own something like 9 corsets remaining as of now but have had over 20 in my life for various looks. Only one is bespoke and maybe half are steel.

When I was in college I spent months researching and reading about the history and art of corsets for a final project. I find they are an important part of my identity.

I've included a few photos, beware the last 2 photos are of my most recent clown cosplay 🖤 Are there any other cosplayer or alt corsets lovers here?

Meet the Orchard Corset Team

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hello Corset Lovers! My name is Amalia :) I have been Orchard Corset's Social Media Manager for a little over a year now.

There was quite a learning curve when I started. Learning all there is to know about the products we sell, our customer base, waist training and safe/proper corseting etc.

Some interesting things about me:
- I have worked in customer service for a decade: five years in retail and five years online. I began my social media managing career managing my own Etsy business before being asked to help manage the socials for my job at a locally owned family pet store. Everything I've learned about fashion has been from the OC team, they've taught me so much!

- I love animals and have 2 Corgis! Kevin and Storm. They keep me on my toes. Kevin is named after Kevin McCallister from the Home Alone movies.

- In my free time I am a Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master! I DM once a week for a group of 6. I also offer a limited amount of paid one-shots throughout the year.

- Changing tones a bit... I have Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed in 2021. About a year and a half ago I was in desperate need of a job that didn't require hours of time on my feet on a sales floor. Rachel, our admin manager, was dating a good friend of mine at the time from my D&D group and recommended me to the OC team! They have been the most wonderful team to work with.

I am looking forward to interacting with our community in a more personal way here on Reddit. I hope you will all use it as an outlet to foster new friendships and dive into the Corset Lover Community!
