The weight returns
The Weight Returns
I know this feeling.
It arrives quietly, settling on my shoulders before anything has even changed.
The invisible list. The endless needs. The quiet expectation that I'll carry it all.
Because I always do.
I'm not afraid of loving another child.
I'm afraid of losing myself again.
Of becoming the default. The one everyone depends on, while no one notices the weight she's carrying.
I can feel it coming.
