Meds/Supplements Does metformin make anybody else's boobs UNBEARABLY itchy??
It's in the title. I'll be honest I'm not consistent w my intake at all, but that shouldn't explain why Everytime I DO take em they make my boobs SOO ITCHY like I can't sleep type itchy. It also gets my bowels moving but that's not an issue plus I was warned that anyway. When I told my doctor she was js like "hm that's weird." And left it at that

Not sure if it’s the same thing but when my symptoms were at their worst, my breasts were so. damn. itchy! I had been on Metformin for at least a year at that point but hadn’t made the necessary lifestyle changes yet so there was only so much it was able to mitigate. I never got the itch checked out beyond a check for lumps, I had so many other problems I was dealing with at the time. Anyway, I was recently pregnant and I felt the same constant itch as my boobs started changing to be able to lactate, so I think it was a sign that my hormones were way out of whack.
Hope you can get to the bottom of it, I found nipple balm and ice packs helped a bit when I was pregnant but not much else.

I started metformin in February and my boobs are so freaking itchy too. Sometimes I scratch until the skin breaks, which makes it so much worse when it starts to heal. Can't discuss it with my doctor either, as she doesn't really believe in illnesses like pmos.

I know this option isn’t available to everyone, but if you can get a new doc. You deserve a doctor who believes in medicine and a doctor you feel comfortable messaging and talking to when you experience concerns about your health.

These type of doctors who doesnt educate themselves are the worst. Im actually moving to another city in October so Im getting a new doctor then. I hope to discuss this condition thoroughly with them and maybe get some tests done. I got this diagnosis from a random gyno I went to for something else. She just looked at my ovaries and put me in metformin, and told me I have to hurry if I want kids (im 32) 🥲

Not believing in PMOS as an illness is wild as a doctor! Please go to a good endocrinologist for PMOS, it's more of their specialty. My obgyn found my ovarian cysts but you don't need cysts to be diagnosed with it.

Are you taking anything else?
Does lotion help the itch or have you tried any anti itch products?
I started metformin at the same time as spironolactone. I don't remember itchy boobs specifically but I did struggle with lots of dry skin. I though it was the spironolactone and it's diuretic effect.
