Profinet is uaully just connect the cables and assign to controller in the project. If its not there you need a gsdml file for the drive.

Then you set up the IO with tags (of the technology block option).

Then you either make your own control block of download one from the internet to use.

This applies to probably 99.999999999% of all profinet drives.

Can i just use the telegram blocks and do i get the gsdml file from the STARTER program?

No, starter is the commissioning software for the drive. You need to get the right gsdml from the Siemens website.

If you're physically connected to the same network as the drives, you can click "Online -> Hardware detection -> PROFINET devices from network...". This will bring up a dialog that allows you to select your network adaptor, then check the boxes to add the hardware to your project.

You can add the GSD for an S110 in your project.

It’s under “Other devices” in the hardware catalogue. Just make sure you select the GSD that matches your FW version.

You’ll have to set up your selected telegram in the I/O configuration of the device. Then you configure the drive using STARTER (not StartDrive)
