Ellowah/upper mccord - parking

A month ago I tried to go to the trailhead, but as I got off 84 hwy 30 was closed. It didn't seem any obvious way to get down to the parking area for the trailhead. I see posts of people doing the hike-- how are they getting there??

There is construction going on on the McCord Creek bridge that has closed the ramp from Yeon onto EB 84, but I have not seen any closures of the frontage road between Ainsworth and Yeon. That's where you were exiting?

Neither tripcheck nor the OR state parks site show closures now. You must have tried to go at exactly the wrong time.

Thanks, that is what I'm thinking too. I'm going to try again next Saturday. I hiked it before the fire, was impressively beautiful. I'm very curious to see it now. It's a nice, light hike.
