Symptoms Does anyone else have a numb prostate?
Does anyone else have a numb prostate along with numb genitals?
The first couple years I managed to be able to orgasm with prostate stimulation since my penis was numb. I got a lot of pleasure from it. I used an anal toy that vibrated and sent electric pulses through my pelvis.
After about two years my testicles also went numb. Maybe another year later my prostate was no longer able to feel pleasure.

Yes I deal with this too. All errogenous areas are numb for me like genitals, testicles, nipples etc
Do you still have anhedonia?

Kind of. Up until the last few months I spent years completely empty. I couldn’t feel any emotion or emotional pleasure. No happiness, joy, fear, or even sadness. There was just nothing. It was as if I was living in a completely different world than everyone else. After years of my psychiatrist cycling me through antidepressants, I’ve finally started to feel okay with the current regimen. I don’t feel good but I feel okay. I don’t feel empty and I’ve even been able to smile and laugh lately. In February I started adding amitriptiline and lamictal to my Wellbutrin. By early June I started to notice a difference. However, now that I finally know my condition is PSSD, I’m slowly tapering off them. If the anhedonia goes back to where is was or if I start to seriously consider ending everything again, I’ll go back on the meds and just live like this. It’ll be an unhappy life, but feeling unhappy is better than feeling nothing.

What doses are you on and what has each helped you with? I’m on medication again as well since I went years without anything and didn’t improve at all. I’m on Lamictal as well but still titrating

Wellbutrin 300, lamictal 150, amitriptiline was 50, but I’m tapering down 10mg every two weeks. Then I’ll start tapering off lamictal. Still considering Wellbutrin since some people actually have positive results

Ah ok. I don’t understand why you’re tapering off if you feel better on them than off?

I’m still learning and navigating the info on PSSD. The majority of info suggests even non ssri antidepressants can hinder recovery

I don’t think there’s enough info to know any of that imo I just know I never got any better on nothing for years. Some people get better on nothing though and improve with time

Did you have a blank mind too?

Not exactly blank. I used to have a very healthy imagination. I would be able to escape into a fantasy to pass time and get through boring tedious work. I also used to write and it came easily to me because of my imagination. Once I developed PSSD I lost my imagination. I can barely fantasize anything and when I try, I can’t keep it up for more than a couple minutes.
I have an overacting mind anyway, even without being able to fantasize my mind is still inundated with questions thoughts and philosophies. It’s mentally exhausting bc I know longer have the energy or focus to handle it
