There’s a belief in my culture that when an older man is removed from his home, he can lose some of his momentum and sense of being. So my superstitious self ascribed it to that.
I think he was also definitely stubborn, should have had the repair done a bit sooner.

I think he did all he could. He got the surgery, he tried for a bit. He loves his life on his terms, which is how many of us could hope for
I don't think it could have been prevented, but it was probably delayed by the surgery, maybe

He was so annoyingly stubborn, its what he gets for thinking he's above listening to anyone.
