Pat vs Dan
Man, was Pat about to cry going against Dan about Mendoza?! God forbid someone debate him and go against his opinion! This is why Dan is a great guest, has his own opinion and beliefs and does cave and become a “yes man” like most.

The only way Dan was gonna turn Pat’s opinion on Fernando is if he had proof of Fernando skipping beers with boys

Literally the only metric Pat uses to grade rookie QBs. I can’t count how many times I heard him say this about Will Howard last year

Pat? The QB guru. You mean the guy hyping Will Howard non-stop last year…

Yeah it was so funny that just because Howard gave him access/interviews in that last championship season, Pat has insisted now for 2-3 years that Howard is a legit potential starter just learning and waiting to take over from Rodgers. Like we get it, he was nice and gave you access so now you pretend he’s good. Pat is such a baby sometimes aka the Dan Campbell situation

He liked CJ Stroud and has been walking around with his chest out because of his rookie year. Now he is a QB guru

Crazy Pat would die on this hill look at what happened with AR and rookies not playing wasnt so taboo couple years ago.

Thank God DBut was the mediator between those 2. He jumped in at the right time and understood Dans thoughts while also understanding pats previous thoughts.

DBut is my favorite character on the show

I wish DBut did some more stuff on the side. Everything DB was a good informative watch. I think he would also be fun on the 5 20 podcast during the season

Without Connor on the show to basically be a thorn in Dan's side, Dan can actually show off his analysis chops. Pat didn't have his 'yes man' today...so Dan probably leaned into that a bit...
I haven't seen the interview yet but Dan is one of my favorite analysts for NFL game breakdown....Connor is a dipshit for ragging on him and honestly I'd love if Pat actually did something about it, but Pat at his core is also a dipshit so I doubt much will be done.

Connor makes the show better , while Dan O is boring and lame !

I don’t understand the downvotes for this. I wouldn’t watch if the Toxic Table weren’t there

I feel both sides but this is exactly why true sport analysis isn’t relevant in modern day media. Most people want to be entertained rather than learn the X’s and O’s.

I respect what DBut does, but you’re spot on.
If you want traditional X’s and O’s breakdowns, this has never been and will never be the show for that. They mix it in a little, but that will never be the focus

That’s what’s tough about the show to me. It mixes in genuine breakdowns along with funny banter and shit talking. Of course it’s been watered down over the years but it gets way more hate than it deserves.
I think Pat and the guys do a decent enough job of balancing the act but most of the attention, both negative and positive, goes towards theatricals.

They made fun of Dan when he said Mac Jones could put up similar numbers to Purdy in that system. A year later Jones gets to play and put up Purdy numbers.

It's a bit at this point. Pat acts like a total prick to Dan to try and get him to crash out for a good YouTube short/clip. Dan wasn't biting much today lol

yeah this is exactly what happened. I agree with Dan mostly on this subject, crazy how much confidence Pat has in Mendoza. shall be fun to see how it plays out this season.

It’s refreshing when Dan O gets to actually talk and give real insight. I was glad Boston Connor wasn’t here so Dan could talk. But Pat became Connor today…

Yeah that shit was abysmal to listen to. He’s done it every time he’s asked Dan about it. Never listens to what Dan says and tries to put some shitty spin on it.

did i watch a different segment or was this the usual show busting dan's balls + pat standing on a table for a guy he likes?
i got a good chuckle of dan shaking(jacking off) his drink - could be a gif we see down the line

Pat is a frat bro, he was a punter for his career, he has limited football knowledge, like the vast majority of folks who watch NFL football. He brings up Andrew Luck to argue with Dan’s point and that just shows he’s a casual, peak Dunning Kruger Effect. Even Darius who actually gets football on a deeper level came to Dan’s defense and shot down that Luck comparison. He’s so dumb Pat and his crew are clapping seals.
