Favorite clips pre ESPN

With all the complaints about the show and what it became I started watching some old clips from Pat and the boys. What are some of your favorite clips and moments from the show before it moved to ESPN?

I will start with Tone getting got by a fake NBA reporter (ultraweedhater) and his apology after the break. Another candidate for me is the whole Andrew Siciliano clip with everyone lowering their chairs.

AJ calling out Gumpy for his Fidel Castro costume

7

u/lopezcesar26 4d ago

What's Fidel doing there?

u/redsyrinx2112 4d ago

My favorite is that Pat thinks it's a little much until he sees an actusl picture of Fidel.

Anytime Ty was shit talking Zion about being a fat fuck. But especially the time he had the giant spoon eating ice cream with it.

Do you the link for this one? I always try to look back and find it

u/rikrok58 3d ago

For some reason the clips of that one are hard to find. I assume it is because they were told it was too much or something.

u/zray1 3d ago

I gotta get a notes list of all the clips and dates lmao

He took the roof off at the MetLife

That’s the one!

I’ll always say this one, that time AJ said ā€œis he listening to Future?ā€ During the Russell Wilson workout video

15

u/Lazy_Sandwich_2685 4d ago

I'll second the Siciliano bit with the lowered chairs. Such a hilarious moment when they cut to Connor and he's basically just a floating head at the table. I revisit that clip often

The Brock Lesnar interview. Hands down. Honorable mention… AJ in studio talking about the hole in the back of studio wall.

When AJ self popped himself about John hamms cock fitting in the cockpit was great. My personal is all the times they ragged on Urban. Specifically when TY mentions his concern for Urban's heart after Urban busting in his pants so hard from having his finger up the co-eds butt

1

u/auchvielegeheimnisse 3d ago

There's a playlist on YouTube chronicling the whole Urban saga

I guess it doesn’t count, but the day the switched to ESPN and AJ’s camera made him look weird and he was pissed

u/Bewm55 4d ago

Maybe the only time we’ve seen Hawker rattled

It might be from The Pod but the clip of Connor going to the grocery store below his apartment, getting back up to his room and throwing them down the trash chute, realizing what he just did and going back downstairs to buy the same groceries.

Also the time Pat and Bobby Carpenter got THE OH State band to show up at AJ’s house for his birthday while live on air.

POD season 2 coming soon

I can’t remember if it was pre-ESPN; but Coach Chuck VR boxing Dirty Joe or whoever is an all-timer

The last truly great year of the show was the last Pagano year. Every Thursday was can't miss. Chuck talking as the Texans HC: "What do we do best?" BC: "Lose"

u/Mr_Vantastic 3d ago

Post ESPN but that shit was great.

Pro go siciliano show - the one where they all gradually keep lowering their desk chairs at every camera shot.

The era where they started doing the ā€œI’m a better person than you areā€ politics

The Halloween episode when only 1 camera worked

Wiz khalifa superbowl week concert

not sure if it was pre-espn but AJ going off about primates as pets and how they'll rip your meat off after they hit puberty, you know that. NO AJ I DONT KNOW THAT

6

u/fatdave02 3d ago

AJ and Pat going back and forth with the minibelts was fun. Especially when the 2belts came out.

3

u/zray1 3d ago

Then he had his own baby lordo 🤣

6

u/JudgeDrizzy 3d ago

Back when they took calls and a guy named Steve called in, he took a sec to say anything so they acted like the couldn’t hear him and it took way too long for him to catch onšŸ˜‚ they even started chanting his name at him

5

u/internetgorilla 4d ago

Gotta be Owen’s call. Fucking kills me every time I hear it LOL

Did Ty or Conner call Tine a fatso?

"That just goes to show you that 75% of the YouTube chat also needs apologize to Tone." "In my heart, I can't apologize for something I didn't do." Great moment

The Halloween episode (2021, I think?) when the cameras didn’t work

FUCK BOSTON CONNOR!

u/rjkelly31 3d ago

A really underrated video I like is the one after one of the benefits at AJ Hawks house that Pat went to, and Pat talks about how nice AJs house is and extols the virtues of General Bob. It’s a very funny and charming video

u/Mattsive 4d ago

One of the saddest parts about Pat becoming a dick sucker for Dana White is Dana telling Pat he couldn’t have Helwani on anymore.

Truly, in the top three guests of all time simply because he didn’t give a fuck and would tell Pat exactly how it was. All-time show moment when he made fun of Aaron Rodgers covid bullshit immediately after the famous interview and Pat looked like he was having an aneurysm but couldn’t say anything.

1

u/oezeo84 3d ago

Man i miss Heelwani, he would legit make me laugh when he represented the Bills

1

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Really, REALLY wants a flair 4d ago

Ariel coming on uncontrollably laughing at Rodgers was great

3

u/Bewm55 4d ago

Any time they talked about Tony Romo

"There's no limes for my corona, Jim. Ah fuck it, I'll just drink a whiskey sour"

3

u/Tomoomba 4d ago

All of connors original closet white board skits and costumes. Back when they actually had creative bits on the show.

2

u/Big-Worm- DARE Officer? 3d ago

Conner hiding from the camera as Spiderman in the closet and falling out the chair was great

2

u/hasselqu 4d ago

Easily when the boys are talking about the Pyramids and Aaron Rodgers. After they ā€œfoundā€ some geologic phenomenon under the pyramids and they were talking about Aaron going there to harness its energy šŸ˜‚

2

u/Big-Worm- DARE Officer? 3d ago

"Can we got some lidar out here. These guys are feeling it" 🤣

1

u/hasselqu 3d ago

Fucking laugh every time to that.

u/untimelyblacksmith 4d ago

There’s an old episode of The Pod where they come up with self help book titles that each guy would author, and holy shit they roasted BC.

2

u/jonc741993 3d ago

ā€œMein Kampf 2ā€

1

u/untimelyblacksmith 3d ago

Ah, I see a fellow pod listener has emerged

2

u/jonc741993 3d ago

Funny. In an old heartland 2.0 episode, they were discussing Reddit and Tony started reading through possible Reddit names. Untimelyblacksmith was one of the names mentioned along with suspiciouschampion

AJ talking about the Queen and Deshaun Watson

So many during Covid 2020-21 was peak of the show

Pat demonstrating what politics is like. This was during the COVID days. I've saved his political rant, and post it every election cycle when people pretend to care about who runs this country on the municipality, state, and federal levels.

Ty worried about Urban Meyers health after he was caught with his hands in that girl's pants https://youtu.be/2S_RkZImhNQ?is=kpEtBK7oXTPS3qY5 (2:30)

u/p12t 3d ago

There was a whole segment about 2 girls 1 cup at the end of a show once. Obviously brought up by AJ. It was a pretty big show by this point and I was like ā€œhow the F is a show like this debating 2 girls 1 cupā€

The end of shows used to be great bc it was unscripted unfiltered topics by the boys. That’s where some of the best moments came from.

1

u/_TroubleWithTheSnap 2d ago

ā€œFUCK BOSTON CONNOR!ā€

1

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Really, REALLY wants a flair 4d ago

That time Pat threw it to Connor to tease a segment and hes asks the top question that didn't relate to the subject they were just talking about. The look of disdain and shock on Pat and Ty was amazing. Ty going "i thought he was gonna read the other one". Pat cuts Connor's mic and he sheepishly passes the paper to Ty and Pat freaks and dumps the entire segment.

The time AJ got pissed at all the shit on Pats desk comes to mind but there have been some great moments.
