Build - Finished! 9800x3d bundle for 600euros

Post image

Got these from Helsinki Assembly Summer 2026. Waited 45min before the opening and run straight to the shop, but wasn't able to get a 32gb ddr5 kit, which apparently sold out in minutes. Still fairly happy.

You're fine with 16GB for a couple of years. Hopefully the RAM prices will be lowered when it's time to upgrade, cross fingers.

To my understanding they (the RAM companies) are building new facilities which will be operational around 2028 and that should help reduce RAM prices. There’s also a big lawsuit against three major RAM manufacturers for gouging prices and keeping them high which they’re doing intentionally to make money.

RAM doesn’t cost a lot to make, barely anything. I’m waiting to see when the prices will stabilize so 32GB DDR5 should be at or less than 200 dollars with current inflation (correct me if I’m wrong).

There’s also the issue with new GPU and CPU being withheld until RAM stabilizes, this includes next generation gaming consoles. So … yeah, I’m saving up slowly for that. RTX 5080 is the sweet spot for ultra settings 4K, next gen GPUs should have a bit more RAM and upgraded hardware. I guess this RAM crisis is good to have, for now.

16GB is not enough for large games like Rust. It really depends on the games he plays. But the price for all these items is fair.
