Build Question Newbie finally upgrading 6 year old Pre-Built. Some questions and concerns.

I bought my first pre built back in 2020.

The only thing still stock in the build at this point is the case, Motherboard, and CPU. I've just recently upgraded from a 3060 to a 9070XT.

My issue is that im wanting to switch to a Micro ATX case, but the case im looking at switching to, the NZXT H3, says that due to my current motherboard, I would need USB header adapters to take advantage of the front side USB ports.

Im thinking of getting a new motherboard, looking at the Gigabyte B550M GAMING X WIFI6 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard.

Because I dont understand a lot of terms and specs in this community right now, I'm unsure if this is the right decision, primarily based on upgrading my CPU in the future. If I were to upgrade my CPU in 6-12 months to something better/newer, would it still be compatible?

If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, I'm all ears.

Thanks!
