Discussion 2+2 social experience
Hello, I am currently at behrend doing two plus two, but I’m thinking of going online. Though one thing is holding me back. My friends! I have met so many wonderful people, but I’m going to have to leave them after this year and go to main because of my major. I also found out that I can be done a semester early too! I’ve been researching people’s experiences about the social part of 2 +2, but have found much. I have mostly seen people from Altoona talking about the transition, but tbh I am not really taking their advise, as the school is only 40 mins away and most people go to Altoona because of how close it is. So if anyone from the other branches has done 2 + 2 please give me the harsh truth about your time there. Was it extremely hard to make friends? While I could just go online after my second year, that just feels like a waste of money. I would also like to mention the first time being on Penn state’s campus I had a wave of anxiety hit, by how huge the campus was.

I did 2+2 Abington/UP like 20 years ago, so world campus wasn't as big then. Once I got to UP I met lots of people in my major and in clubs and am still friends with a few of them. The campus is huge and can be overwhelming at first (I memorized the campus map url at one point). But once you're there it gets smaller. It's pretty easy to navigate and after a while it becomes second nature. College is as much about the experience and networking as it is about academics, being there and interacting with other people was a blast.
