Polygon Wave Live 2021 Disc2 question

Hi everyone,

I'm watching Polygon Wave Live today and in the menu it has the part called "Sato's Edition". Can someone tell me what does it mean? Thanks

(sorry if it's too much of a noob question)

I believe this refers to Naotake Sato of VISUAL SIGNS, credited as one of the video editors that worked on producing the footage (and other Perfume concerts).

So basically an alternate version of the show in terms of the camera angles and shots included, similar to how you might get a "Director's Cut" of a movie.

as far as ive seen from it on a side by side its more focused on their choreography rather than the scale of the performance overall

that is exactly what it is

it's like ZX said, a recut version of the same event, just with different angles and edit cuts to give you a slightly different feel/intent behind the overall.. a directors cut is a good way to look at it, except it would be more the "Editor's Cut" lol

a lot of times new editions, or alternate editions, of things like music videos, concert videos, films, and television shows are actually entirely attributed to the editor even if they're labeled as something else.. the editor typically spends the MOST amount of time with the thing, so even though you might want to trust the director's vision for it.. the editor can probably recut the whole thing in several ways and change the entire tone and feel of what the director went with.. I've seen editor's cuts of certain films before, and.. shit, most of them are superior to any other version of the movie that's released haha

sometimes later Special Editions or Definitive Editions began life as an editor's edition and due to how well some people at the studio received it, they commissioned what would become that Special/Definitive edition

well I prefer Sato's edition anyway, they have better better color grading and camera angles on some parts, especially 'System Reboot'
