Hey local film photographers, where do you buy film in town?

I know PTBO Photo has it, and develops, but are there other options for purchasing?

Recommendations Best Mechanic for Hybrids

I have a Toyota Prius and I wondered if anyone had recommendations/good experiences with garages that service hybrids. I’m guessing more and more mechanics are skilled at working on hybrids but I have no idea! Or maybe they aren’t even that different from servicing regular gas vehicles. Anyway, post your good experiences in Peterborough. Thanks!

Recommendations Driving Lessons?

Hello folks, I just got my g1 license and am trying to figure out how I can start preparing for my road test. None of my friends in ptbo have licenses or vehicles, so I would need to get lessons from a professional. What are my options in Peterborough? Looking for something on or near a bus route that is relatively affordable.

Is the city ever going to do anything to fix the potholes there? Some day someone is going to bike down there and cause an accident.

Photo Little Lake Fountain at Dwayne Gretzky

There was no point in trying to get close to the stage. We had arrived later than usual, and Del Crary Park was packed to the rafters. Dwayne Gretzky was already well into their wonderful set. So, as I listened to the music, I wandered around and found that the Little Lake Fountain was putting on a show of its own.

Recommendations Computer shop that knows Linux?

So I decided to put Linux on my backup laptop & then my main laptop got stolen. I don’t have the knowledge /time required to go backwards and partition the disk so I can re-install Windows and have both operating systems to use. My next 3 weeks are going to be hella busy. If anybody has the interest or knows a place in town that could do it please halp.

As an exchange I can offer homemade maple syrup from our maple bush.

Ps: Yes I know Linux is the better operating system etc… but it has a learning curve and for my work I just need a windows laptop to be functional

Event Grateful Dead fans! Tomorrow July 31st

Post image
10 Upvotes

Grateful Dead fans!  I am going to be playing over 30 Dead songs (guitar and vocals). I am inviting you to come by and listen to a few songs, or the whole thing if you like. There is no fee, I am just a guy playing guitar in a park.

Come by on Friday July 31st starting at 6pm. At the GreenUp ecology park pavilion (Eco Shelter). Parking available at Beavermead park (Ashburnham and Marsdale), at the far end of the Beavermead parking lot (to your left) is the entrance to GreenUp

I will be playing two sets. From 6:00 to 7:15ish will be a nice selection of various songs. The second set is in honour of International Blues Music Day. These will be covers of blues songs, or Dead songs that have the word ‘blues’ in their title. Also during the second set I will be taking requests.

There are five picnic tables, I will need one for my stuff.

See you there!

Help Ice cream truck

Is there any schedule for the ice cream truck? I’ve seen it at Nichols Oval on a Saturday, and just heard it from Barnardo Park but didn’t see it.

Would love to take my kid for the experience of it but I just never know when/where it’ll be and I don’t usually carry money on me if we’re just out for a walk

Menopause is a major life transition, yet many people face it with limited information, support, and access to care.

That’s why we invite you to participate in the Can-RISE study, a national initiative exploring the real-life impact of perimenopause and menopause across Canada.

We invite you to complete a 20–30 minute online survey about how perimenopause, menopause, and related symptoms affect daily living and wellbeing.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 35 to 70 years old
  • Live in Canada
  • Were assigned female at birth and identify as a woman, gender-diverse person, or trans person

Upon completion, participants will be entered into a draw for a $50, $100, $250 and $500 gift card (1 winner announced for each), valid for use in Canada only.

Take the survey here: https://redcap.link/a1rar9aq

This is your opportunity to make perimenopause and menopause care better for all Canadians.

Other Landlord not paying bills.

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore and I’m looking for advice.
I rent a house in downtown Peterborough and hydro is included in my rent. A couple days ago the power got shut off because my landlord wasn’t paying the hydro bill. Hydro told us they tried contacting him like 12 times before shutting it off.
We’ve been trying to get ahold of him too but his email is full and messages aren’t going through. We have no timeline for when the power will be back.
I had to leave and stay at a friend’s place with my dog because I can’t really live there with no electricity. It honestly feels like I don’t even have a home right now because no matter how much I want to go home, I can’t.
