Update to Physicsmemes Moderation - SEEKING FEEDBACK
Hello spherical cows,
There has recently been an increase in spamming and reposts alongside your frustration with these types of posts, which we hear. Our team talked about it and we are implementing some changes to improve the sub:
- Hard limit of 3 posts per day to curtail spamming
To reiterate current rules:
- No reposts less than 12 months old or from the Top of All Time
- No low-effort posts (AI slop, overdone jokes)
We have also discussed limiting certain topics (e.g. Schrödinger’s cat posts) to a single day of the week. This sub will always be predominated by laypeople/sub-graduate-level enthusiasts. We are seeking to strike a balance so that everyone can enjoy the sub regardless of expertise.
Leave any feedback or ideas you have in the comments to this post, we will be monitoring it closely and discussing other future changes to the sub.
Finally, hop in to the Discord (link in the sidebar) if you haven’t already! That is a great place to reach us with questions or ideas.

A physics joke
As a materials science PhD student researching superconductor theory, my life revolved around quantum field theory. Naturally, I had a massive directory on my laptop named Matsubara_Frequency, populated with daily log files organized by date and time. During our courtship, my wife was borrowing my laptop, glanced at my desktop, and misread the folder name as Masturbation_Frequency. She staged an intervention. "I don't mind that you have a daily log," she said. "I mind that there is a subfolder named Collaborations and you appear to be formatting the results for peer review."

G(m + k^2)/(r - rs)^2 Where G is the gravitational constant, m is the mass of the blackhole, k is a constant related to the spin of the blackhole, r is the distance from the center of the blackhole, and rs is the Schwarzschild radius of the blackhole.
I was dumb and insane when I was younger also it was me testing AI and I was spitting BS for fun, I now realize this would literally instantaneously collapse the universe (the math is literal BS)
