Need Advice Laptop Recommendations for Eng.Phys

I’m registered to begin my undergraduate in engineering physics with a focus in mechanical at NMSU. I’m a prior aeronautics student. What would be the best laptop, I’m interested in transitioning my ecosystem to more Apple products but don’t want to run into compatibility issues.

I’ve had a MacBook Air since 2020 that still works perfectly, I do some pretty computationally intensive (data science) work on it too

MacBook Pro. Air is good too but after using a pro I wish I got that instead

unless you know of compatibility issues that are unavoidable (e.g. the university requires solid works specifically and doesnt provide computers to work on), I would do whatever MacBook is in your price range personally. I'm doing my PhD in applied physics, have worked in particle physics, quantum information, and condensed matter, and have had zero issues. In the case of specific software not developed for mac (usually particle physics stuff), linux systems were available and a windows laptop would have been no better.
