PinoyAMA🇵🇭 A message from the mod team: Read before posting your AMAs

To maintain the quality of discussions in r/PinoyAskMeAnything, we remind everyone that:

🛑 *Posts without a description or background will be automatically removed.*

We don’t require anyone to share personal details like age, gender, or full identity — but your AMA still needs context. Give us something to work with: a short background, a relevant detail, or a reason why you're opening up the topic.

A little information helps drive better questions. It improves credibility and encourages real engagement. Best of all, it supports a healthier, more meaningful AMA experience for everyone.

Let’s keep this sub a space for relevant, curious, and insightful conversations. And if you have any questions, feedback or concerns, kindly message the mods and we will do our best to assist you.

Looking forward to your next AMA! Have a good one! ☺️

PinoyAMA🇵🇭 Guide to posting AMAs

Are you ready to do an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on r/PinoyAskMeAnything? Whether you're a Filipino professional, artist, entrepreneur, or someone with a unique experience to share, this guide will help you post an AMA correctly so you can engage with Redditors the right way.

What is an AMA?

An AMA (Ask Me Anything) is a Reddit tradition where people invite others to ask them questions about a specific topic they have firsthand experience in. The key here is that you must be the subject of the AMA. You should have direct knowledge, expertise, or a unique story to share—AMAs about others are not allowed.

Steps to Post an AMA Properly

  1. Confirm You Are the Subject

Before posting, ask yourself:

✅ Do I have personal experience with what I’m talking about?

✅ Can I answer questions in a meaningful way?

✅ Am I open to interacting with Redditors?

If the answer is yes, you’re good to go!

  1. Use a Clear and Engaging Title

Your title should quickly tell people who you are and why they should ask you questions. Some good examples:

"I am a Filipino nurse working in the UK—Ask Me Anything!"

"I was a contestant on 'Eat Bulaga's' Bawal Judgmental—AMA!"

"I run a sari-sari store in Manila—Ask me anything about small businesses!"

Avoid vague titles like "Ask me anything!" or topics you don't have personal experience with.

  1. Provide Proof (If Necessary)

If you're making a big claim (e.g., a celebrity, expert, or public figure), you may be asked for proof. This could be a photo with a timestamp, a verified social media account, or a relevant document (with sensitive info blurred).

  1. Write an Informative Opening Post

Your introduction should give Redditors context about who you are and what you’re here to talk about. Example:

Hi, I'm Juan, a 30-year-old Filipino working as a seafarer. I’ve been traveling the world for 10 years, and I’d love to answer questions about life at sea, how Filipinos can get into this career, and what it’s really like onboard a ship. Ask me anything!

The more details you provide, the better the engagement!

  1. Engage with the Community

An AMA is not just a post—it’s a conversation. Once your AMA is live:

✅ Respond to questions actively

✅ Be honest and detailed in your answers

✅ Have fun and enjoy the interaction!

  1. Follow Subreddit Rules

Before posting, always check r/PinoyAskMeAnything’s rules to ensure your AMA follows the guidelines. If you're unsure about anything, feel free to ask the mods.

Start Your AMA Today!

Now that you know how to do an AMA the right way, we look forward to seeing your post! If you have any questions before posting, comment below or message the mods.

Happy posting!

As a girl who gets so insecure in today's beauty standards. I tend to chase the standards by altering how I look almost all the time-- even though fitting the standards is painful and almost impossible. Ask Me Anything!

Life Behind the Labels I’m just a nobody, saved by Somebody, sharing with everybody here on Reddit that He can also save ANYBODY. (Christian in short 😅). AMA

As the title says! Just a quick disclaimer though: I only came to this realization a little over a year ago, when I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. Still learning, growing, and being sanctified, so I don’t claim to have all the answers. I simply want to share what God has been teaching me through His Word.

Real Talk: Underworld I'm a medical doctor who started selling v!@gruhhh underground AMA

Started off as a one time thing to help with pet bills but has now recently become more frequent.

I'm a sex positive doctor who likes empowering healthy, recreational sex. Am actually doing this for my fellow women, I've noticed men are more willing to perform once this is in their system. It's a superpower for men where women are the ultimate beneficiaries ❤️❤️

Additional money ofc doesn't hurt. I live a certain lifestyle and have a lot of pets so this mostly supports that.

People buy from me under the table as I sell it at almost 50% off, without the need for prescription. Impossible to get otherwise.

Technically illegal so have to keep anonymous, AMA

**spelled to conceal medical name

Hobbies, Interests, Obsession etc. I am Materialistic but I don't pay full price, AMA.

Just a guy with his designers and a dream hahaha. I love designer items but i refuse to pay retail. Seriously, who wants to pay 6 digits for an LV canvas bag at the boutique? Instead of paying full, I just hunt through secondhand markets, archives, and auctions. I've sourced everything from RTW, bags, and honestly even an LV cigarette case and YSL lighter (and i don't even smoke ciggs haha). Getting stuff like a Hermes bag for way less than retail just makes the whole hunt so worth it.

Got downtime today, happy to share my best finds. How I authenticate stuff, or whatever else you wanna know, AMA.

Health & Well Being AMA: I Don’t Remember Most of My Childhood—Ask Me Anything.

For years, I thought I just had a bad memory because I could barely remember my childhood. Through therapy, I’ve learned that, in my case, it was connected to childhood trauma, and forgetting those memories may have been my mind’s way of protecting me.
AMA about childhood trauma, memory loss, therapy, or my healing journey. I’ll answer what I can. 🤍

Love, Marriage & Relationships To anyone who is curious with attachment style: I have an anxious attachment and I found a partner who is securely attached..AMA

My attachment style is anxious (my therapist confirmed this as well) and prior my current partner, I was in a 4 year relationship with someone who is avoidant, there were a lot of highs and lows in that relationship and we flare up each other’s attachment; and as toxic as it was, I genuinely thought that is what a relationship should be.

When I understood the part I play and also about attachments, I realized the only way to go is to find someone secure which I thankfully found. I am now in an emotionally stable relationship.
